July's Editor's Letter

Back in January, I have to confess we had no intention of launching anything new this year. But as July hits, it seems we’re working on more new projects than ever before. June saw the birth of the SheerLuxe Book Club, spearheaded by Georgina and Heather – if you loved Lessons In Chemistry as much as we did, you can get involved in the conversation over on the SL Community – do make sure to listen to the team’s expert analysis when the podcast drops later this month with special guest Caroline O’Donoghue.

Next week, we’re also launching a new supplement: the Business, Careers & Finance Edition will interview some of the most inspiring names in every industry and provide all the career and personal finance advice you need – whether you’re a young sole trader or experienced professional. Plus, our city guides are getting a serious makeover: expect all the New York hotel, restaurant and shopping tips when our comprehensive guide launches later this month.

Fashion-wise, July is full of some of our favourite names – from Zimmermann to Oserée, Rhode to Mara Hoffman, the industry’s coolest designers are sharing their style secrets. The LGs are also opening their suitcases for us – if you’re not watching the LG vlogs, you’re missing one of my favourite bits of SL content. Plus, over on YouTube, one of the most recognisable faces in beauty will be taking over the SheerLuxe Show for a one-off special – stay tuned.

Believe it or not, there are now more ways than ever to stay up to date with our team – the SL Community has had a makeover, and now, you can ask questions directly to every editor. Whether you have a beauty query for Becky or a fashion dilemma for Emma, find their thread to put your queries to them. Plus, if you’ve ever wondered who has the best musical taste in the office, we now have Spotify playlists curated by different members of the team.

I have an unusually sporty month ahead, as I look forward to Wimbledon, Goodwood and the Ascot King George weekend. I’m not sure what I’m more excited about: the outfits or to see Berrettini IRL. Between the V&A’s Divas exhibition and the Design Museum’s REBEL: 30 Years of London Fashion in September (you can pre-book tickets now) I’m also ready for a dose of culture – and, as I take a deep breath and paint an entire room (ceiling, architraves etc) in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Tanner’s Brown’, I’m looking to new TikTok discoveries Courtney Shoudis (studioemmajean_chicago) and Lone Fox Home for fresh interiors inspo.
