Hum London has made its first foray into gathered lampshades, using beautiful hand-embroidered linens dating back to the 18th century. The Prairie Collection evokes the ruffles, romantic silhouettes and delicate detailing of mid-19th-century dresses. Suitable for table lamp bases and even wall lights, the lampshades are available in three sizes, starting at £115 for an extra small shade. Each limited-edition shade is handmade in the UK and available to purchase online. You can also browse the pieces by appointment at the brand’s Battersea studio.

Be Nice Projects
Be Nice Projects is an online gallery space that plans to give back through sales from its curated shop. Its tri-monthly exhibitions will revolve around a central theme, exploring different societal issues – the first delves into the theme of ‘Humanism’, provoking conversations and reflections on fundamental human rights. This one’s in support of Say It Loud Club, a community of LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and refugees in the UK.

The Hoxton x Bauwerk Neighbourhood Collection
Each Hoxton hotel reflects its neighbourhood, yet there’s an intangible thread that runs throughout to create that distinctly ‘Hoxton’ feel. Ennismore’s in-house design team, AIME Studios, is responsible for creating that aesthetic. To give guests a chance to recreate the same look at home, it’s joined forces with Bauwerk Colour on the Neighbourhood Collection – a range of nine limewash paint colours designed to reflect some of the coolest cities in the world, including Berlin, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Barcelona. Soane
Traditional craftsmanship underpins everything Soane does, and nowhere do we see this more than in its rattan furniture. The growing collection comprises new designs by Lulu Lytle, as well as copies and adaptations of antiques collected over the years. We’ve fallen hard for Kymo, an original Soane design loosely inspired by the curvaceous folds of a satinwood Art Deco cabinet. Named after the Greek word for ‘wave’, Kymo has been reimagined in rattan and whale bone oak but can be made in any of Soane’s rattan finishes.

French Bedroom
Known for its beautiful investment pieces, French Bedroom was founded in 2006 by Georgia Metcalfe after she spotted a gap in the market for timeless, feminine French-style beds. Since then, it’s expanded its collection of furniture and the bedroom range now includes a selection of contemporary upholstered designs and luxury bedlinen. Our head’s been turned by the new Gustavian Collection – the perfect blend of Rococo style and Swedish minimalism. All pieces have been diligently handcrafted in solid ash wood, which will develop a warm patina over time.

Beata Heuman 188
Swedish-born, London-based designer Beata Heuman has finally opened a showroom in Hammersmith called 188. The Grade-II listed townhouse offers an entry into Heuman’s intriguing world and will also act as a base for the designer to meet clients and friends alike. Once you’re through the large forest green doors, a warren of rooms awaits – showcasing everything from furniture to plug sockets, all of which have been diligently designed, sourced or produced by Heuman and her team.

Maie
Since launching its signature coffee tables last autumn, Maie has gone on to create a range of trays and coasters using offcuts from its own furniture production coupled with stoneyard waste. The pieces can be engraved with your initials or a short phrase, making them a thoughtful and stylish gift idea for fans of sustainable design. Ca’ Pietra
Inspired by Venice and its terrazzo-filled buildings, Rialto is a range of seven resin-based real terrazzo tiles, each paying homage to the landmarks and notable areas of the city. All seven slab colours (made from recycled and waste marble materials) are studded with chips of natural marble and coloured in rich pigments. Suitable for both walls and floors, the seven – ‘Castello’, ‘Foscari’, ‘Laguna’, ‘San Marco’, ‘San Polo’, ‘Santa Croce’ and ‘Veneta’ – are available in a large-format tile measuring 600mm x 600mm.

Polène Homeware
You’ll no doubt be familiar with Polène’s bags, but its homeware collaboration with Mobje combines its upcycled leather offcuts with woven paper fibres to breathe life into a reinterpretation of the Japanese design house’s ‘Lapel’ vase. The handcrafted object flares out into folds, curves and waves, but the design is adjustable – with a metal clip you can create the exact shape you want. A hidden internal glass vase will also help you use it for more practical purposes, such as displaying flowers.

Yolke x Salvesen Graham
Fashion favourite Yolke and interior designer Salvesen Graham have teamed up to produce a six-piece capsule collection blurring the lines between interiors and sleepwear. Marrying sophisticated florals and heritage motifs, a bespoke print by Yolke will appear across pyjamas, matching gowns, quilts and pillows. Prices start from £30, with the collection available to buy from 29th October.

Martha Freud x The Bull
I recently joined an evening workshop with ceramicist Martha Freud. Hosted at The Bull, Matthew Freud’s new hotel in Oxfordshire, the workshop is part of the hotel’s evolving roster of activities, which also includes flower arranging, perfume making, knitting, beekeeping, ceramics and pottery, and various cookery workshops, to name a few. What was originally a traditional coaching inn now offers services for those after a creative retreat. Guests can choose from many activities, upon arrival or in advance, and most are communal, an hour long and with no more than eight in a group. The property also has incredible artwork – much from Matthew’s private collection – making the walk from your room to the bar a slow one. Elsewhere, the rooms are an interior lover’s dream – think Bauwerk walls in moody tones, low atmospheric lighting and luxe marble bathrooms.
