THE READ:
Naomi In Fashion
Coinciding with the V&A’s exhibition on Naomi Campbell, this new coffee table book charts her four-decade career in the fashion industry. Still very much at the top of her game, Campbell is one of the industry’s most successful – and in demand – models, opening catwalks and fronting campaigns around the world. Opening with an exclusive interview, the book features 20 of the most memorable ensembles worn during her career, personally selected and discussed by Campbell herself. It also explores the many strings to her bow, from her work as a model, a muse and brand builder, to life beyond the catwalk as a cultural leader.

THE SCENT:
Loewe Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic
Loewe continually features in our dream summer wardrobe, so it’s only natural that its new eau de parfum, in collaboration with Paula's Ibiza, will make its way into our carry-on this season. Created by Loewe’s in-house perfumer, the new ‘Cosmic’ scent is playful, androgynous and well-balanced. It has notes of pear, mango and vanilla layered with aromatic cypress resin, before cedarwood and sandalwood add depth. While the Loewe x Paula’s Ibiza scent is floral, this new fragrance is earthy and more sensual.

THE EUROPEAN OPENING:
De L’Europe Amsterdam
Following the hotel’s multi-million-pound renovation, De L’Europe Amsterdam has opened an entire wing of suites designed by some of the Netherlands' most prominent cultural tastemakers – from couturier Ronald van der Kemp to design duo Sisters Janssen, and contributions from the city's own Van Gogh Museum. The unveiling of the ‘t Huys wing signifies the completion of a multi-year renovation project, which has modernised De L’Europe Amsterdam for the 21st century. Highlights of the renovation include the opening of the two Michelin starred restaurant Flore, known for its conscious fine dining concept, the restoration of the historic Freddy’s Bar – named after Dutch beer maker Freddy Heineken and a favourite of Nigella Lawson – and the refurbishment of all rooms, suites, and communal areas.

THE WELLNESS LAUNCH:
Sarah Chapman Clinic Range
Beauty brand Sarah Chapman is taking things back to basics with its new skincare range: Clinic. After seeing a rise in sensitive skin due to the overuse of active ingredients, the range aims to support the skin’s natural barrier – without continuously increasing concentration levels. Launching with three products, the A1 Vitamin A Power 1 Serum contains retinol and retinal to stimulate cell renewal and encourage the production of collagen and elastin, while the C1 Vitamin C Power 1 Face Serum contains two forms of vitamin C, EGT amino acid, niacinamide and tranexamic acid to minimise hyperpigmentation. Finally, The R&R Glow Recovery Cream glides on like a protective second skin, offering comfort and relief to irritated, sensitised or damaged complexions.

THE DROP:
Chanel Métiers D’art Collection
Last November Chanel held its the 23/24 Métiers d’art collection show on Thomas Street, in Manchester. Now, the wait is finally over to shop the collection – it finally arrives in stores this month. A celebration of Manchester’s musical culture and Chanel's own heritage, expect to find the usual house motifs, as well as fun nods to British culture like tea pots, vinyl records and flowers – all brought to life by exceptional artisan embroiderers, flower makers, pleaters and more. "Tweed is central to this collection," explains Virginie Viard, Chanel’s creative director. "I thought a lot about Gabrielle Chanel but didn’t want to recreate Coco’s look. Instead, I took my cue from the Coco who brought colour to her tweeds by adding a vibrant, pop spirit to them."

THE CANDLE:
Cult Gaia
Cult Gaia is one of the fashion team’s favourite brands, so we were pleased to hear it has made its foray into the beauty world with the launch of three scented candles. Inspired by founder Jasmin Larian’s Persian heritage, the candles come with a removable and sculpted stone vessel, so you can refill the glass once the original is finished. ‘Mast’ features notes of Italian bergamot, coconut and orange blossom; while ‘Zan’ includes cardamom, warm cedarwood and pink pepper. Then there’s ‘Noor’, with notes of Madagascan smoky black pepper, rose and lavender. The perfect gift or treat to yourself.

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair joins its sister property in Hyde Park, and is set on Hanover Square with the same contemporary interiors. Rooms and suites are filled with plush decorative accents and thoughtful touches to make your stay feel extra special, while the state-of-the-art spa features a 25m indoor pool, vitality pools, an ‘experience shower’ and rooms where you can enjoy bespoke treatments. Food-wise, we’re most excited about Akira Back’s first UK restaurant where diners can enjoy Japanese dishes including his signature ‘AB Tuna Pizza’, before slipping into the late-night cocktail bar.
