Quickfire Fashion Questions With Mode D’Amour

Dutch blogger Anne-Miek Kessels, aka Mode D’Amour, may not be on your radar yet, but with her minimalist style, pared-back colour palette and grown-up taste, she’s the name you should be following. Whether it’s her Instagram account or her inspiration feed (we love @mode.damour for Pinterest-worthy scrolling), she’s our daily source of fashion ideas – so naturally, when it came to a new season, we had to pick her brain…

Save To My Favourites

My style is… Minimal – I mostly wear black, white and neutral tones.

My top three wardrobe pieces are… Oversized blazers, leather slippers and white shirts.

This autumn I’ll be living in… A straight pair of high waisted denim jeans (I love Citizens of Humanity) leather slippers, a tank top and an oversized blazer – it’s one of my favourite combinations ever.

For a night out, my go-to formula is… A black silk dress teamed with a long coat and some kitten heels.

The one piece I couldn’t live without… Neutral, oversized blazers.

My fashion icons are… The Olsen twins! They’re the reason I became interested in fashion.

I predict the new season… Will be full of brown and camel items; especially coats and blazers. I also think we’ll see a lot of oversized coats. Checked prints are a huge trend again, and the infamous dad sneakers will be still worn a lot!

I’m always searching for new… Blazers, since I wear them on repeat. I also hope to find a new everyday designer bag this season, maybe from Loewe or Céline.

My favourite designer brands are… Loewe, Balenciaga, Céline, The Row, Lemaire, Toteme and Khaithe

When it comes to affordable brands, I love… COS, & Other Stories, Massimo Dutti and Arket

The brand everyone should have on their radar is… Aaizél. Their collection is beyond amazing.
