Our Junior Fashion Editor’s Picks Of The Month
The Brand
From Sir to Joslin, Australia’s not short of cool fashion brands and Alémais is the latest to catch my eye. Initially, it was a pink, shell-printed shirt and shorts set which sucked me in, but the rest of its collection is equally dreamy. Think floaty silhouettes in loose cotton and linen, with an injection of Zimmermann-esque print – I want it all.
The Jewellery
Welded jewellery is on the rise and if you’re looking for a thoughtful gift for a friend (or indeed yourself), Atelier VM’s concession in Liberty is well worth a visit. The brand offers both delicate chain bracelets and anklets in solid gold as part of its L’Essenziale collection, and I love the idea of wearing something special that’s been fastened on permanently. Secretly, I’m drawn in by the idea of not having to take it on and off each day.
The Sandal
I admit I don’t need another pair of sandals, but I can’t stop thinking about Hermès’ Chypre design; it embodies everything I look for in a summer shoe. Chunky yet sleek, I can see myself wearing them with everything from denim shorts to dresses. Naturally, getting your hands on a pair from a boutique is like gold dust, but there are quite a few pairs popping up on Vestiaire Collective, so perhaps I’ll take the plunge…

The Vintage Store
A recent discovery after I purchased a quilted jacket from the brand’s Etsy store, Found & Curated Vintage is a real treasure trove of pre-loved gems. Sifting through rails of vintage can be time consuming, but you can be sure F&C’s hand-picked selection of pretty dresses and printed outerwear will take the hassle out of finding something unique.
The Look
Learning to play tennis has been my main goal this summer and while my game still leaves a lot to be desired, the apparel is something I’ll be adopting beyond the court. While the vintage sports luxe look – as championed by the likes of Sporty & Rich – is nothing new, I’m loving a white pleated skirt teamed with a boxy tee or sweatshirt for a chic weekend look. The length of a tennis skirt is so leg-elongating (just look at Monica Ainley, Olivia Lopez and Saraja Elez for proof), and if you’re looking for a slightly less sporty way to wear one, just add a blue striped oxford shirt instead.
