The New Really Pretty British Brand To Know
The Pedigree
A Central St Martins grad, Aussie-born Louise Markey is renowned for creating versatile, wearable pieces, many of which are sold on high-end platforms like NET-A-PORTER and Farfetch. Meadows marks the designer’s foray into more whimsical, feminine fashion, with all items designed in Hackney and crafted in ethical factories.
The Collection
For anyone who loves the prairie trend, the collection is inspired by romantic sartorial moments throughout history, from Victorian undergarments to 70s florals. As of this month, every piece is now crafted from organic cotton – expect lightweight, comfortable separates and billowing dresses.
The Hero Pieces
The matching two pieces are a stand out – we love the lace-insert top-and-short combos, as well as the floral print versions. Style them with simple raffia shoes and basket bags for an easy summer look.
The Price Point
There’s nothing more satisfying than finding a contemporary label that doesn’t cost the earth. Expect to pay under £200 for dresses and around £120 for peasant-inspired tops.
The Site
As well as Meadows pieces, the site sells a range of quirky lifestyle products and niche labels, from crystal jewellery to cult magazines. You can also browse pieces from other cool fashion brands, including shoe label Miista and, naturally, L.F. Markey.
