THE MAKE-UP LAUNCH:
Rabanne Beauty
For nearly six decades, Rabanne has been known for its avant-garde fashion and fragrances. Now the fashion house is continuing its legacy by launching beauty. Its uncompromisingly high-performance formulas are combined with maximum colour pay-off and skin-loving ingredients – all inspired by fashion fabrics, unexpected sparkle, matte, gloss and metal finishes which take their cue from the house. Each formula is vegan and comes under one of four categories: Eyephoria is all about expressive eyes, Rouge Rabanne is a collection of signature Paris lip shades, Nudes is all about creating a fresh complexion and Arts Factory is all about having fun with make-up through colour and sparkle.

THE PLAY:
Hamnet
This new production of Hamnet had a sell-out run at the RSC, breaking box office records at the Swan Theatre, and opens to the biggest box office advance in the Garrick Theatre’s history later this month. Set in Warwickshire, 1582, Agnes Hathaway, a natural healer, meets the Latin tutor William Shakespeare. Drawn together by powerful but hidden impulses, they create a life together and start a family. As William moves to London to discover his place in the world of theatre, Agnes stays at home to raise their three children. When the plague steals 11-year-old Hamnet, they must each confront their loss alone. And yet, out of the greatest suffering, something of extraordinary wonder is born.

THE JEWELLERY DROP:
Daphine
Launched at the end of last month, Daphine’s AW23 collection is channelling the ethereal glamour of ‘70s bohemia – think Stevie Nicks and co. The tiger eye stone – the focal point of the new collection – echoes that retro feel and sets off the brand’s signature golden styles perfectly. The chunky ribbed hoops, seashell-inspired earrings and gemstone cocktail rings all make for beautiful gifts, too.

THE EXHIBITION:
Gabrielle Chanel: Fashion Manifesto
This is the first exhibition in the UK dedicated to the work of French couturière Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel. The V&A’s new show will chart the evolution of her iconic design style and the establishment of the House of Chanel, from the opening of her first millinery boutique in Paris in 1910 to the showing of her final collection in 1971. Featuring over 180 looks, seen together for the first time, as well as jewellery, accessories, make-up and fragrance, the exhibition will explore Chanel’s pioneering approach to fashion, which paved the way for a new feminine elegance and continues to influence the way women dress today.

THE FRAGRANCE:
New Notes
New Notes is a new generation of perfumes that aims to break down the codes of perfumery and boundaries of role and gender. Of the collection, we’re big fans of Cocktail Marakuja, an exotic and stimulating scent that ‘leaves the vibrant mood of a party and aperitivos with friends’ on the skin. Expect top notes of passion fruit, pear and lemon, heart notes of jasmine, rose, cardamom, pink pepper and ginger and base notes of amber, white musk, patchouli and cedarwood. Don’t know where to start? Check out its starter pack, which contains seven of its scents.

THE RESTAURANT:
Claridge’s Restaurant
After a summer soft launch, Claridge’s Restaurant will officially open its art deco doors onto Davies Street this month, as it embarks on a new era and comes fully in house. The contemporary British restaurant sees chef Coalin Finn head up the kitchen and some of the dishes he’s devised – such as the whole grilled native lobster – have already become Insta hits. Like some of the hotel group’s other spaces, the restaurant has been designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio and pays homage to the hotel’s art deco design, with a contemporary colour palette complemented with Calcutta Viola marble and antique brass.
