ACTOR: Florence Pugh

The star of last year’s horror hit Midsommar and BBC drama The Little Drummer girl is our woman of the moment. Fresh from a scene-stealing role in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women, Florence Pugh has also caught our eye on the red carpet, where she’s styled by Rebecca Corbin Murray, who also dresses fellow UK screen stars Lily James, Gemma Chan and Jenna Coleman. We can’t wait to see what she wears – and perhaps wins – come awards season.

RESTAURANT: Davies And Brook

Eleven Madison Park’s Daniel Humm is set to launch a new restaurant inside Claridge’s later this month. The menu promises to reflect London’s vibrant food scene, so expect to sample crispy rice with citrus-marinated yellowtail and grilled short rib of beef with fermented mint alongside signature dishes such as duck glazed with honey and lavender. The setting will be relaxed yet refined: picture artwork by American artist Roni Horn and a stylish bar headed up by Pietro Collina, which will focus on cocktails and small plates.

MEMOIR: Motherwell: A Girlhood

In this unflinching memoir about the intricacies of the mother-daughter bond, late Guardian columnist Deborah Orr deftly navigates complex questions surrounding family relationships. Fierce, warm and funny at the same time, it’s beautifully written and focuses on many important themes – from the sacrifices we have to make and the opportunities we have to take, to the class and mobility struggles facing many. It’s a truthful look at the individual journey we go on as we grow up, and offers an insight into how the people and the places we come from impacts this.

COLLAB: Blanca Miró x La Veste

Joining the ranks of Instagrammers trying their hand at design is Blanca Miró, the Spanish influencer famed for her quirky colour combos and unapologetic deference to prints. La Veste is predictably frivolous, packed with pastel hued ginghams and candy coloured stripes, and is an easy shortcut to Blanca’s otherwise-hard-to-emulate style.

BOOK: Older, But Better, But Older By Caroline de Maigret and Sophie Mas

With playful wit and savvy observation, the bestselling authors of How to Be Parisian tackle the art of growing up. Iconoclastic, bohemian Parisiennes Caroline de Maigret and Sophie Mas advise on love, seduction, fashion, dating, family, work, living alone and accepting imperfections – now they are more ‘madame’ than 'mademoiselle’. Both poignant and laugh-out-loud funny, this tongue-in-cheek guide illuminates what it means to be a fully-fledged woman.

FILM: The Gentlemen

Guy Ritchie’s latest film is another star-studded action comedy. The plot follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who’s built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever, it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him. The film also stars Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant.

Luisa Beccaria x Artemest

INTERIOR TOUCHES: Luisa Beccaria x Artemest

Italian fashion designer Luisa Beccaria has launched her first homeware collection with Artemest. Described as a mix of “ethereal and fairytale flair,” the collection emulates her trademark dreamy, floaty dresses by merging romantic patterns and bright colours that range from bold to pastel. Of the collection, we love the coloured glass espresso sets and blossom covered charger plates.

EXHIBITION: Picasso And Paper

Picasso didn’t just draw on paper – he tore it, burnt it, and made it three-dimensional. From studies for ‘Guernica’ to a 4.8-metre-wide collage, this exhibition brings together more than 300 works on paper spanning the artist’s 80-year career. When it opens at the RA on 25th January, visitors will be able to see Picasso’s creative process first-hand in remarkable documentary footage of the artist at work sketchbooks where the seeds of revolutionary masterpieces first took shape. Letters, illustrated poems and photographic collaborations with Dora Maar will also offer glimpses into the artist’s life.
