The Luxe List: August
THE GLASSWARE: Curio
This new collection of glassware from Olivia Thorpe, the founder of skincare brand Vanderohe, has really caught our eye. Each piece is handblown in the UK and is a one-off, designed to be admired for its sculptural form as well as its function. The collection focuses on layered speckles, translucency and bold colour gradations – we love its speckled pink large pouring jugs and multifunctional pebble stacks.

THE HOTEL: Beaverbrook Townhouse
Regular SL readers will know how much we love Beaverbrook in Surrey, so we expect this new project in Sloane Square to be pretty special. Set over two Georgian townhouses, the hotel has 14 suites named after London theatres, all designed by Nicola Harding – the creative force behind some of the UK’s most stylish hotels. Beaverbrook Townhouse will also have a Japanese restaurant and bar which will serve a range of contemporary dishes. Whether you stay overnight or drop by for dinner, put this hotel on your late-summer list.

THE BOOK: Conversations On Love by Natasha Lunn
After years of interviewing people about their relationships as a journalist for her Conversations on Love newsletter, Natasha Lunn has learnt that our daily questions about love are often rooted in three bigger ones: how do we find love? How do we sustain it? And how do we survive when we lose it? The result is a book of wisdom without judgement; a book to learn from, to lose and find yourself in. Inside, expect to hear Philippa Perry on falling in love slowly, Dolly Alderton on vulnerability, Roxane Gay on soulmates, Candice Carty-Williams on friendship and Lisa Taddeo on grief.

THE CANDLE: Sketch
Award-winning perfume designer Azzi Glasser has teamed up with hot Mayfair restaurant Sketch to create a scented candle. Named 'Powder', the candle is made from natural wax and comes in a pretty pink glass vessel. When it comes to fragrance, expect notes of Moroccan orange blossom, white jasmine, moss, oud, patchouli and sandalwood. We imagine this would make a great present.

THE FRAGRANCE: 702
With its latest launch – 702 – French perfume house Bon Parfumeur wanted to honour raw materials while reinterpreting late 19th-century perfumery. Made for summer, its top notes include lemon and pink pepper, followed by French lavender, cashmere wood, vanilla and white musk – all in a modern bottle that will look good on any dressing table.

THE COLLAB: Martha Ward X Bamford
Fashion director Martha Ward has collaborated with clothing and wellbeing brand Bamford to release a capsule selection of sleepwear which, naturally, is chic enough to be worn out of the house, too. The collection includes two nighties and a pyjama set, all in a fresh white colourway with ruffles, tie details and scallop edges, offering a nod to the oh-so-prevalent prairie trend.

THE RESTAURANT: Sucre
Fernando Trocca launched Sucre in Buenos Aires in 2001. Now he’s opened a new spot in Soho. Taking over the former home of the London College of Music, there’s a cocktail bar – Abajo – and a restaurant designed by Japanese architect Noriyoshi Muramatsu. The open kitchen plays host to a dramatic fireplace and wood oven – placing the chefs at centre stage – with a menu that combines old world flavours and modern ideas via Latin American open-fire cooking. We can’t wait to visit.
