Eugenie’s Wedding: All The Details So Far

The Dress
Much like Meghan Markle back in May, Eugenie's dress designer came as a surprise to many. Peter Pilotto, Creative Director at his eponymous label is responsible for the design, along with his partner Christopher de Vos. The Princess met the designers whilst co-hosting an event in support of women artists, and, according to an official press release from Kensington Palace, worked closely with them to create the dress, which cinches at the waist, features a folded detail across the shoulders, a twist detail at the back, and a dramatic train.
The fabric was designed by the duo at their east London studio and includes a number of symbols that are meaningful to Princess Eugenie as motifs, including a thistle for Scotland acknowledging the couple's fondness for Balmoral, a Shamrock for Ireland as a nod to the Bride's Ferguson family, the York Rose and ivy representing the couple's home. The artwork was then transformed into a jacquard weave in the Como region of Italy.
Her shoes are by Charlotte Olympia, and her tiara is a family heirloom lent to her by the Queen – created by Boucheron in 1919 and made of brilliant and rose-cut diamonds pavé set in platinum. She's also wearing diamond and emerald drop earrings given to her as a wedding gift by the groom.
The Bouquet
Eugenie's wedding bouquet was created by floral designer Rob Van Helden's sister, Patrice Van Helden Oakes, consists of lily of the valley, stephanotis pips, hints of baby blue thistles, white spray roses and trailing ivy. Sprigs of myrtle from Osbourne House are also included in the bouquet – a royal tradition carried on from Queen Victoria's eldest daughter Princess Victoria, when she married in 1858.
The Guests
Along with all the major royals – including The Queen, Harry and Meghan and William and Kate – the 850-strong guest list featured supermodels Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Cara Delevingne along with sister Poppy, David and Victoria Beckham, James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley, Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field, Ellie Goulding, Pixie Geldof, comedian Jimmy Carr and David Emanuel – who designed Princess Diana's wedding dress. A lot of Hollywood royalty were also in attendance, including George and Amal Clooney, Demi Moore and Liv Tyler.
And as for their outfits, autumnal and berry shades were an overwhelming trend; the Duchess of Cambridge opted for raspberry-hued McQueen, whilst a heavily pregnant Pippa Middleton, Princess Ann and Mother-of-the-Bride Sarah Ferguson are wore variations of moss green. Most of the guests eschewed floaty, romantic designs in favour of smart, structured offerings – that includes the Duchess of Sussex in fitted navy Givenchy, and Princess Beatrice in mid-length royal blue by Ralph & Russo. We’re taking inspiration from Poppy Delevingne’s pale blue lace midi, and Cara deserves a mention for ignoring tradition, arriving in tops and tails.

The Bridesmaids & Pageboys
Eugenie was joined by eight bridesmaids and pageboys as she walked down the aisle, including family members Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Savannah and Isla Phillips (the daughters of Autumn and Peter Phillips), Mia Tindall (the daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall) and Maud Windsor (the goddaughter of Eugenie and daughter of Lady and Lord Frederick Windsor).
Theodora Williams – the six-year-old daughter of Robbie Williams and Ayda Fields – was also a bridesmaid. As Williams and Fields have always opted to keep their children out of the spotlight, this is the first time Theodora has been seen by the public. The couple are close with Eugenie, having met the royal whilst on holiday in the Caribbean a few years ago and staying friends ever since. And Louis de Givenchy – also six, and the son of Brooksbank's friend, banking executive Olivier De Givenchy – was one of the pageboys.
The bride's older sister, Princess Beatrice, served as her maid of honour, whilst the groom's younger brother, Thomas Brooksbank was best man.

The Location
The couple tied the knot at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle – the same venue Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose for their wedding in May. Before that, the chapel last hosted a royal wedding in May 2008 when Peter Phillips – son of the Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne – married Autumn Kelly. Prince Harry was also christened there in 1984 by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Robert Runcie.
The Ceremony
Eugenie was walked down the aisle by her father, Prince Andrew. Her husband-to-be looked nervous as he waited for his bride to arrive, but as she met him at the altar he grinned widely and said: "You look perfect", and "Oh, break my heart".
The ceremony was being officiated by the Dean of Windsor, David Conner, and featured live music from members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who performed two pieces. Guests also heard a personal prayer written by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu.
The Reception
The Queen is hosting a reception this afternoon in St George's Hall at the castle, and an evening party is planned too, taking place at the York family home – the Royal Lodge, in Windsor Great Park.
The Couple
Princess Eugenie – who's ninth in line to the throne; the daughter of the Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, and the granddaughter of the Queen – met drinks executive Jack Brooksbank whilst skiing in Switzerland in 2010.
The Dean of Windsor described Eugenie, 28, and Brooksbank, 32, as the “perfect couple” after giving them the traditional pre-marital guidance. “They are very natural with each other,” he said. “They obviously love one another but they also have a lot of fun together and it's been a real pleasure to work with them
