JESSICA RUSSELL FLINT
The Story
British designer Jessica Russell Flint creates vibrant hand-illustrated prints which she transposes onto contemporary dresses, luxury sleepwear and accessories. She studied at Central Saint Martins and got her break with an exhibition at the Clerkenwell Gallery that led to commissions from the Conran Shop and later Harrods.
The Style
Mixing British heritage-inspired themes with contemporary colours and bold designs, Jessica’s work makes the most of life. From her smocked tea dresses to frill wrap skirts, there’s also an emphasis on femininity.
What’s Different
Every print and piece starts with a drawing – and there’s no mass production here. All Jessica’s creations are limited edition, ensuring an exclusive feel throughout the collections. Her label’s motto is 'Life in Colour' and right now this is exemplified in the pretty, playful prints appearing on pieces like an everyday dress.

Jessica Russell Flint will continue to offer timeless fashion in a slow, sustainable manner, while regularly updating her prints and clothing lines. The current collection already includes plenty of transitional pieces ideal for spring and summer evenings.
LISA THE LABEL
The Story
Founded by Lisa Johnson-Gozali, Lisa The Label is all about romance. A fashion graduate, Lisa honed her skills at both Vivienne Westwood and Bella Freud, before launching her namesake brand. Unable to find the unique separates she wanted, she set about designing and creating her own, all in luxurious organic fabrics. “I wanted to produce feminine pieces that were easy to wear,” she says. Having started with one-off and made-to-order garments, Lisa The Label now offers mini transitional collections, focusing on care and quality, so nothing goes to waste.
The Style
Expect whimsical silhouettes, a classic colour palette, and vintage-inspired details. Driven by a deep love of travel and easy-to-wear style, the aesthetic is feminine and playful. “I want the clothes to transport the wearer into a dream state – each collection is inspired by moments and details from different cultures, my travels, art, movies, and elements of vintage style,” Lisa adds.

Lisa describes the Lisa The Label woman as someone who wants to feel confident, unabashedly feminine and isn’t afraid to have fun. In short, she’s always on-the-go and constantly evolving. “The brand is all about creating this romantic escapist world, and luxurious clothes that transcend time.”
What's Next
For 2022, the brand plans on introducing new styles. “I’m refining the brand with more innovative fabrics and details.We’re also planning a couple of pop-ups throughout the summer which will expose the brand to different customers in different locations now the world has opened up again.”

SEVENTY + MOCHI
The Story
Haya Iqbal Ahmed grew up around the fashion industry and went on to study both business and fashion in New York. After working in denim manufacturing, she noticed a gap in the market for an affordable, sustainable, design-led denim brand. “The concept was to create consciously kind denim, that was seasonless and adaptable but would speak to our generation of modern, independent, strong women,” Haya tells us. “I was truly inspired by the process itself and one of the first founding principles of Seventy + Mochi was to be circular minded in all aspects of our product and process.”
The Style
Expect feminine and seasonless classic denim with modern updates and details. To complement the denim range, the brand also offers a selection of lightweight cottons that are slowly handwoven on traditional handlooms. “The Seventy + Mochi woman is a free thinker who exudes confidence,” Haya says. “She is fashionable without being a victim to it and enjoys functional pieces in her wardrobe that can be styled in multiple ways.”
What’s Different
“Because we’re the consumer and the manufacturer, that gives us a real understanding of the product. As the consumer, we understand what our customers are looking for, who they want to be and what they want to be wearing. As the manufacturer, we understand how we can make the product better, using cleaner materials and practises to help our customers make kinder, more considered choices,” Haya explains. The brand prides itself on using recycled and organic materials only, making sure the production process is as low impact as possible, that use of water and hazardous chemicals is reduced, and that all excessive packaging, materials and single-use plastic are eliminated.
What’s Next
The brand has some exciting collaborations in the works for later in the year. For World Earth Day, it will design a capsule collection using its most circular fabric to date. “As a company, we are growing our team and reach this year, and have decided to stock our pre-fall collection with a few like-minded retailers who we love, which is very exciting”.
