I got this Chanel denim patchwork bag last year, after many years of hunting it down. I regretted not buying it when it first came out, so I made it my mission to look for it in second-hand stores. I knew that if it was meant to be, I’d find it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it on a resale Instagram account at a great price and in perfect condition, so I took the plunge. To me it’s a piece of art so I don’t wear it too often. I save it for special occasions.

My husband gave me this Hermès Kelly 28 bag for my 30th birthday. He’d gone to the New Bond Street store on several occasions to try and buy one, and each time walked away empty handed. He even purchased a couple of smaller pieces, like a notebook, to get ‘in’ with the store assistants. A few weeks before my birthday, he saw one of the store assistants outside having a cigarette. He stopped to say hello and mentioned he’d been looking for a paper refill for that notebook. After she got the refill, she brought out a tan Kelly 28 with gold hardware. It’s ticked every box for me for seven years and counting. I don’t use it that often but when I do, it feels just as special as the first time.

My favourite bag has to be my Chloe Hudson. I use it almost every day. I bought it when I finished working on the first series of The Voice back in 2016. I’m about to complete my sixth year on the show and the bag is still going strong. Every time I think I’m going to invest in a new one, I can never find anything I love more. It works so well in the winter – it’s a lovely rich burgundy colour but feels equally appropriate in summer thanks to its boho look. I’m about to get the handle repaired as it’s become a little loose – hopefully that will mean I get another few years’ wear out of it.

My most used bag has to be my Chanel 19. I bought it around a year and a half ago after thinking long and hard about my next investment bag. I admit I go through phases with it – one minute I regret buying the larger size, the next I love that I did. Recently I’ve been out and about a bit more and this bag has been great for holding all my essentials, while still looking chic. I did contemplate selling it at one point but on reflection, I’m glad I didn’t. It was my first Chanel and one day I hope to pass it down to my daughter.

One of my favourite bags has been my Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie, which I got a couple of years ago and have worn many times since. I was already a fan of the maxi and midi Jodie, but when the mini Jodie came out, I loved how it tapped into the micro bag trend. It’s beautiful and stylish, yet roomy enough to fit my everyday essentials. It’s so versatile too – you can style it as easily with heels and a dresses as you can with trainers and jeans.

My favourite bag is my Chanel Caviar Medium Flap – it’s a classic. It was designed in 1982 by Karl Lagerfeld. I can’t remember how old I was when I first started thinking about buying it, but one thing I do remember is knowing that if I ever did buy it, it would be in Chanel’s Paris store at 31 Rue Cambon. It’s the only place in the world where you get the beautiful white box with your purchase. When I’d finally saved up enough money, I went to Paris, but the bag wasn’t available in the style I wanted and sold out every time I went back. Many years (and painful price increases) later, I finally bought it this Christmas. It’s an investment piece and was worth the splurge – it elevates even the simplest of outfits.

This Gucci Horsebit bag has been my most used piece since I got it in October last year. It’s currently on loan to me from Cocoon Club. The style is quite understated and not too flashy, and I always prefer a cross body strap for convenience. Normally I’m a black bag kind of girl, but I like to think brown is the new black!

My style is quite simple and understated so a sparkly bag would not be my usual choice, but something about this Prada Cleo stole my heart. It makes everything from denim to a black dress feel a bit more exciting, and it’s extra special to me because it was a surprise Christmas gift from my husband. In my opinion, it’s the ultimate accessory because it doubles up not only as a bag but a piece of jewellery. It’s definitely a splurge, but also a bit of a collector’s item that can be passed down to future generations.
