What To Do This Weekend 31.01.18
PRETEND IT’S THE 7OS HERE: Café de Paris
Café de Paris has launched a new concept: Disco54, an immersive dining and late-night party inspired by the iconic Studio 54 and its legendary parties. Disco54 promises to deliver the same memorability and unconventionality as the infamous New York hotspot: there’ll be a team of 40 performers, singers, actors, hosts and DJs; the venue will be transformed with 54 disco mirror balls; and themed karaoke rooms will be set to provide a non-stop soundtrack. A new cocktail menu is inspired by famous artists, singers, models and personalities of the 1970s. We want to try the signature sharing cocktail served in a giant disco ball and named after pop icon Elton John.

BOOK IN A BRUNCH HERE: B&H Garden Room
Following the success of Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings’ sell-out weekend brunch, B&H Garden Room is launching a stylish brunch of its own this Saturday. The kitchen promises to offer a twist on traditional dishes to satisfy those looking for something sweet, savoury, healthy or indulgent, with classic egg dishes, seasonal smoothie bowls and vegan waffles appearing on the menu. We like the look of the sweet potato frittaffle (that’s frittata meets waffle), topped with a fried duck egg. Alongside this, the B&H cocktail maestros have created their own version of the Bloody Mary, the ‘B&H Garden Mary’, which can be tailored through a choice of different spirits, juices and salt combinations.

HAVE A SPANISH FEAST HERE: Tapas Brindisa
The traditional Spanish festival that celebrates the famous Catalan onion, the calcot, is back once again this year at Brisinda Shoreditch every weekend during February and March. So get ready to roll up your sleeves, strap on a bib, and dip charred calcots in romesco sauce, pour wine from porrones straight into your mouth from great heights and delve into a vast amount of grilled meats and seasonal vegetables – we can’t recommend their juicy grilled lamb cutlets enough. We might be celebrating an onion, but that’s all the excuse we need to eat good Spanish food for two months solid.
