London’s iconic Berkeley hotel is taking to the streets to deliver breakfast by bike. Two different breakfast sets are available during this period and beyond, with pastries fresh from the Berkeley’s bakery, juice, fruit salads, granola and smoked salmon bagels all on the menu, complete with a daily newspaper and complimentary delivery. For those keen to squeeze in an early morning walk, the breakfasts are also available for collection from the hotel. For a fully celebratory start to the morning, half or full bottles of champagne are also available, accompanied by orange juice for a classic breakfast mimosa. Should you wish to order for a friend as a surprise, the Berkeley team will also take to their bikes with balloons and handwritten cards. Menus cost £15 or £24 per person and will be available for delivery in SW1X and for collection from the hotel seven days a week, from 8-11am. The service will run until January 2021.

Leading breast cancer charity Future Dreams is hosting an online art auction to raise vital funds to support those touched by breast cancer during the pandemic. Ahead of the auction, Future Dreams will present the work as part of a virtual exhibition, curated by Pernilla Holmes and Amelie Von Wedel of The Arts Club Mayfair. Mayfair restaurant Novikov has launched a trio of ‘Lockdown Survival Kits’ featuring a range of luxurious ingredients. Take your pick from the ‘Caviar Box’ (50g of Novikov’s finest caviar accompanied by quail eggs, blinis and sour cream); ‘Black Truffle & Duck Box’ (pPeking duck, black truffle, pancakes and condiments) and the ‘White Truffle Taster Box’ (a chef’s selection of premium Italian charcuterie, cheese and white truffle), all of which are priced at £100 each. For those looking for something a little more casual, Novikov’s seven pasta-making kits certainly fit the bill. At just £20 per box, they comprise freshly made pasta and sauces for two – including favourites such as tagliatelle wagyu bolognese; tonnarelli with pesto and burrata; and rigatoni with purple aubergines, tomato sauce and pecorino. A well-chosen list of champagne, prosecco, red, white, rosé wine and sake is also available. Deliveries can be placed via Deliveroo and will continue to be available until further notice.

A month after reopening following expansive renovations, Australian restaurant Milk Beach has launched a new burger and pie delivery service designed by head chef Darren Leadbeater (Frenchie, Wild Honey) available Wednesday- Sunday, to order on via Slerp. Highlights include the ‘Schnitty on the Beach’ – crumbed koji-marinated chicken breast with Korean coleslaw, bread and butter pickles and fermented chilli hot sauce; the ‘Larrikin Leadbeater’– an Aussie-inspired burger made with grass-fed British beef, emmental, streaky bacon, caramelised onions, Clarence Court eggs, beetroot, lettuce and tomato; and the ‘I’m Baked Burger’ – salt-baked celeriac glazed in Korean barbecue sauce, coleslaw, lettuce and tomato. Milk Beach is also teaming up with St John Bakery to bring its legendary doughnuts from Bermondsey to west London throughout lockdown and beyond. These will be added to Milk Beach’s takeaway offering at the restaurant, with an outdoor shop set up under its large heated parasols on Lonsdale Road mews. The takeaway shop is also open Wednesday through Sunday.

HELP OUT LONDON’S STRUGGLING THEATRE SCENE HERE: ‘Save Our West End’ Cabaret Night
Tonight, for one night only, Joe Allen – the New York brasserie and West End restaurant – will host its third and final virtual cabaret evening. An array of musical performances will be streamed live into homes worldwide to raise money for those in crisis in London’s Theatreland. Having raised money from the first two acts to support Acting for Others, this one-off evening will feature appearances from Sir Ian McKellen, Jennifer Saunders and Christopher Biggins, to name a few. Bringing Broadway to bedrooms, Act Three will pay tribute to musicals such as 42nd Street, The Scottsboro Boys and Chicago, as actress Harriet Thorpe comperes the night. Everything will be introduced by Acting for Others president Dame Judi Dench, who will lift the proverbial curtain. An Evening at Joe’s will take place on from 8-9pm via YouTube, and will also be available to watch after transmission on the Joe Allen website.
