FOR FUSION DISHES:
Wun’s Tea Room & Bar x Nick Molyviatis
Regular SL readers will know we love Wun’s Tea Room & Bar for its Cantonese dishes, so we were excited to hear the Soho restaurant is hosting a pop-up with Greek chef Nick Molyviatis (formerly of Kiln). On Friday 15th October, diners can try traditional Greek dishes alongside Wun’s signature menu. Highlights include langoustines with dill and bergamot, octopus and yellow split peas with freshly baked pittas, lamb offal fry ups, and galomizithra (a soft Cretan cheese) with tomato and barley. The pop-up is open from 6pm until 3am, with music and special cocktails from mixologist Gerry Russo – think nettle gimlets and seaweed martinis.

All dishes will be served ‘family style’ so you can meet new people in the main dining room while tucking into the team’s signature smoky, wood-fired dishes. Diners can enjoy smoked salmon pastrami with horseradish and baked beetroot; smoked lamb shoulder with cauliflower, burnt aubergine yoghurt, pickles, smoked hummus, burnt squash and flatbreads; and chocolate mousse with smoked salt for dessert. FOR A WEEKEND TREAT:
The Italians Upstairs at Deeney’s
The Italians Upstairs deliver fresh pasta and homemade sauces to homes in and around east London. The team recently opened a pop-up at Deeney’s in Leyton, so you can try the brand’s dishes every Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm. Start with small plates of caponata with toasted almonds, saffron arancini with pesto aioli, and sourdough with stracciatella and anchovies, before tucking into the pasta of the day – previous options have included norcina con porcini or tagliatelle with ’nduja and mascarpone. We love the brand’s meaty ragus and warm, fluffy focaccia.
