The Beauty Treatments To Book Pre-Holiday
The Sculpting Massage
The benefits of lymphatic drainage – both for your health and your body shape – can be reaped all year round, but they’re especially relevant pre-holiday. “Travelling and cabin pressure can cause the body to swell because your circulation slows down and fluid tends to pool in the tissues” says Olivia Johnson, a Brazilian lymphatic draining expert who trained in LA with the renowned Detox by Rebecca. “A lymphatic treatment manually moves this excess fluid out of the body before you fly, meaning there’s less available to cause swelling. It will also help to support the digestive system, improve circulation and encourage detoxification, so your body is more resilient against bloating and water retention.”
From an aesthetic perspective, she adds “lymphatic massage can help to create a more sculpted physique, with the removal of this excess fluid helping to enhance and define the natural contours of your shape, more visible definition in the stomach and less fluid around the knees and ankles.” Johnson is known for her sculpting prowess, with her Brazilian techniques offering a firmer pressure compared to traditional lymphatic massage. Meanwhile, tools including a vacuum suction machine and wood therapy rollers making light work of cellulite, bloating and swelling.
Olivia’s Lymphatic Full Body Detox is £300 for two hours.

The Laser Hair Removal For Lightweights
If you’ve had laser hair removal in the past, you might have found it didn’t work that well or it was painful. But things are different now thanks to technologies such as the machine used at Strip Hair Removal salons. Thanks to a cooling top that soothes the skin’s surface we really (truly) didn’t feel any pain bar the occasional little flicker of the laser – definitely not any hot, burning sensations. This technology also protects against pigment changes, so it can be used on all skin tones to prevent hair regrowth. In as little as six sessions (all at least ten days pre- or post-sun exposure) you can get rid of all unwanted hair on your legs, armpits or bikini line.
Strip London Laser Hair Removal, from £90 per session.
The Beach-Resistant Blow Dry
Your annual leave hours are precious – so don’t waste them battling frizz and blow drying your hair with weak hotel hair dryers. A keratin treatment, or ‘permanent blow dry’ as Hershesons call it, is a brilliant investment that will help eliminate holiday-hair dilemmas in just one sitting. The treatment infuses the strengthening protein keratin into all the microscopic gaps along your strands, sealing the shafts to create a smooth texture that can last for months. Hersheson’s option doesn’t rely on formaldehyde, so although it takes down the frizz, it won’t strip natural texture from the hair, meaning any curl or wave patterns will bounce back after a few days, rather than things being poker straight. The process is pretty quick (about 90 minutes) and it can be done on any hair type – just remember you can’t wash your hair for 48 hours afterwards, or 72 for better, longer-lasting results.
Hershesons Permanent Blow Dry prices start from £300.

The Techy Treatment
We’d like to preface this by saying that cellulite is not anything you have to be worried about getting rid of. Almost all of us have it, and it’s perfectly normal. However, if you are bothered by it, this treatment is one of the only ones we’ve tried that really, truly shifts it. While some creams can help to strengthen the skin and therefore slightly reduce the appearance of cellulite, and massage can help break it down, this technology does both. A vacuum-like plate is dragged across the affected areas (most commonly the back of the upper legs), heating up the fat cells with high-intensity focus diodes and grabbing onto the skin to mechanically massage it, whilst also spreading a stimulating serum over the surface. The first session will not be the most comfortable 30 minutes of your life (as the stagnant fatty deposits get pummelled away) and you may bruise, but by the third – each is done a week apart – it feels more like a thorough massage. Six sessions are recommended for best results.
Cellution treatment with Dr Galyna costs from £3,000 for six sessions.

The Seamless Spray Tan
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: a spray tan can work wonders for your body confidence, and tanning brand tint. offers some of the best around. “Tint. delivers an olive, not orange, glow” says Sophie Tague, a spray tan expert who uses tint. on her clients. “They’re one of the key innovating leaders, formulating a solution that complements all skin types and tones, plus the odour-masking technology removes that biscuity smell often associated with spray tans.”
She recommends booking your spray tan the day before you travel and not forgetting to do a gentle but thorough body exfoliation 24 hours prior to your appointment. It’s also best to ensure your skin is product-free before the spraying starts too, as any lotions or make-up will create a barrier and prevent the tan from developing properly. Results should then last for seven to ten days if you keep the skin nice and hydrated. To book with Tague, use tint.’s concierge service via WhatsApp (+447822 014 581).
