AM:

Typically, I wake up around 6am. For me, mornings set the tone for the rest of the day. Before I even step out of bed, I reach for my positive affirmations playlist. Instead of flooding my mind with emails or headlines, I choose to feed it words of encouragement. While the playlist runs, I move my body, either stretching or doing a few jumping jacks – I’ll even do a Pilates by Bryony session if I have time. From there, it’s straight into oral care. Tongue scraping has become a ritual I can’t skip; it’s been practised for centuries (especially in Ayurvedic medicine) and there are multiple benefits: improved breath, clearer taste buds and a cleaner mouth overall. It feels like hitting reset on my entire system.

Before the shower, I dry brush to exfoliate, boost circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage. This seemingly small habit leaves me feeling noticeably lighter and more awake. In the shower, Naturium body washes are my one true love. Glow Getter is unreal and does exactly what it says on the tin, and The Perfector is great if you suffer from body breakouts, working to shift any build-up and unclog pores. As someone with psoriasis, I’m hot on body hydration. Post-shower, I apply the Aveeno Skin Relief Body Oil to seal in the moisture. On days I want a bit more radiance, I rely on Dove’s Gradual Tan for a healthy glow.

Most mornings, I skip cleansing. Instead, I splash cold water on my face and use my Skinny Confidential Ice Roller to depuff – it feels so satisfying, especially if you haven’t had enough sleep. Then I’ll layer Elemis Toning Mist, ISOCLEAN Hypochlorous Spray (a product everyone should know about; it calms inflammation, kills bacteria, and strengthens the skin barrier) and follow up with Aestura AtoBarrier 365 Cream. My final step is non-negotiable: sunscreen. Beauty of Joseon’s SPF 50 is my current obsession. It’s lightweight and they now have a tinted version which gives you a natural-looking glow on make-up-free days.

I’m not overly into serums in the morning but I do believe in antioxidants – from the inside out. I eat them daily: blueberries in my breakfast, green tea over coffee, spinach and pomegranate sprinkled into salads. On days when I do reach for a facial oil, I love Sunday Riley’s Juno for its antioxidative power. Tools can be handy, but there’s something grounding and personal about massaging it in using my hands.

In winter, I lean toward richer creams, oils and gentle chemical exfoliation. In the summer, I prefer lightweight hydrators, water-based cleansers and more frequent exfoliation to keep my skin bright and fresh. It’s about listening to my skin rather than sticking to a rigid check list.

PM:

I love a bath, especially in the colder months. Psoriasis has taught me that Epsom salts aren’t just a luxury, they’re therapeutic. They soften skin, ease tension and help me unwind. Another ritual I swear by is massaging my stomach with castor oil using wooden tools to aid lymphatic drainage. It’s so soothing. I’m also obsessed with Cosmetic Consult’s new body treatment, if like me you suffer with dry, flaky skin this is such a game-changer. Imagine a body wrap but without any of the mess – you literally rub it all over your body, go to sleep and wake up glowing all over.

Every evening, I double cleanse without fail: first with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm or Caudalie Vinoperfect Oil Cleanser. Both melt away every trace of make-up, then I follow up with a milk formula. A facialist once told me the secret to glowing skin isn’t expensive treatments, but thorough cleansing. After that, I always spritz on my hypochlorous spray again; it resets my skin and keeps irritation at bay.

Exfoliation, I save for the evening. Harsh scrubs are a no-go but acid-soaked pads are my secret to getting that post-facial look overnight. Retinol isn’t yet a regular in my line-up, though it’s something I’ve researched heavily – Medik8 is top of my list thanks to the glowing recommendations of my community. Right now, I rely on barrier-boosting, nourishing formulas.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Eye Repair is beautifully hydrating. I’ve just started to notice some lines creeping in around my eyes, so this is one of my newly discovered must-haves. My choice of moisturiser changes depending on how my skin feels: sometimes it’s Tatcha’s luxurious Dewy Milk, other times I reach for Nivea Q10, a surprisingly effective dupe that I discovered thanks to Jourdan Dunn. Oils like Sunday Riley Juno or Mimétique Skin Booster are my final step, sealing everything in without any heaviness.

When my skin flares up, whether that’s dry patches or hormonal breakouts, I don’t overhaul my routine. If anything, I add more hydration. I’ve learned that dryness and irritation are often signs of a weakened barrier, not a call for harsher products. For blemishes, I’ll use a touch of Acnecide Benzoyl Peroxide or an INKEY List pimple patch but I never strip back the nourishing steps. My skin thrives on consistency and kindness – usually I’ll look inward to see if I’ve been sleeping well, eating well and drinking enough water.

Looking back, my relationship with skincare has evolved dramatically. In my early 20s, I was the girl who relied on make-up wipes and borrowed moisturisers. It wasn’t until I started working at Charlotte Tilbury, and later, living with psoriasis, that I began to understand skin as an organ. That shift reframed skincare for me into something deeper: a practice of self-love and respect.
