February’s Best Beauty Launches

Blow-dry tools, skin smoothers, affordable fragrances and a detox shampoo that promises better volume and bounce – February has plenty of new beauty launches worth exploring…

Eye Wand, £23 | Vieve

Regular readers will know we love these eye wands from Vieve. Now it’s launched a ‘Rose’ shade – a dusty, soft pink that flatters every eye colour. A little buffed onto the cheeks looks fresh, too. The rounded tip makes application easy – whether you want full-on colour or just a little on the lower lashes. A great everyday shade.

Key Largo Glow Bronzing Drops, £32 | Tarte

Bronzing drops are everywhere right now, but these ones by Tarte are our current go-to. Just a small amount buffed into skin gives a healthy, back-from-holiday glow that looks natural and luminous. There’s a little bit of shimmer, but it never looks OTT, just glossy and fresh. The addition of vegan squalane and hyaluronate keeps skin nourished and quenched. Wear the drops on their own, or mixed with foundation or your primer. You can use them on your body, too.

Blush & Bronze Hydro-Blur Cheek Duo, £27 | Stila

As huge fans of Stila, we were excited to see its new drop of products. Our favourite has to be this Hydro-Blur Cheek Duo. Double-ended, one side houses a blush, the other a bronzer. Velvety smooth, both are easy to apply and blend with your fingers, with a rich pigment that lasts for hours. The creamy texture means skin gets a healthy, dewy sheen too. There are five colour waves to choose from – we love Guava & Mocha to sculpt and define skin.

Wonder’Bond Bonding Serum Mascara, £11.99 | Rimmel

When it comes to affordable mascaras, Rimmel never puts a foot wrong. Its latest one benefits from biotin – an ingredient that’s proven to strengthen hair – and a silky formula that doesn’t clump or flake. The wand is thin, meaning you can grab every little lash for maximum definition and length. You’ll find it lasts the day well, too. A worthy investment if you’re refreshing your make-up bag essentials.

Pha Barrier Repair Serum, £85 | Mortar & Milk

Expect to see lots of ‘barrier repairing’ skincare launches this year. One of our favourites so far is this serum by Mortar & Milk. It’s expensive, but you only need tiny amounts each time. Working hard to soothe and hydrate skin, it also exfoliates a little to completely overhaul and rejuvenate your complexion. Skin immediately feels bouncier and plumped up, with better radiance and tone. Best used post-cleanse, you’ll notice results within weeks if you stick to applying it daily. The best bit? Everyone can benefit from it as it’s so gentle – it never causes inflammation or aggravation.

Original Lip De-Luscious With SPF 25, $30 | Mecca

Australian brand Mecca has dropped its second product here in the UK. With shea butter, pomegranate oils and hyaluronic acid inside, this juicy balm gives lips a hefty dose of hydration while protecting them with SPF20. It leaves behind a soft, pinkish sheen that looks fresh and plump.

Clarifying Detox Shampoo, £31 | Living Proof

If you’ve never tried a detox shampoo, this is a good one to start with. Using magnetic polymers, the formula gently extracts dirt and product build-up from your scalp and hair for a thorough clean – it’s perfect to use before you get your hair professionally coloured so the bleach or tones can adhere fully. There are also gentle surfactants inside to reduce oiliness and pollution particles – the latter can cause dullness. After just one wash, you’ll find your scalp feels fresher, while the roots of your hair will have more lift and bounce.

Eight Hour Cream Hydrating Body Lotion, £27 | Elizabeth Arden

If you like Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour range, you’ll love its hydrating Body Lotion. It envelops skin in balmy moisture, getting rid of crepey skin and soaking up dryness almost immediately. Unlike some lotions, there’s no tacky after-feel, so it doesn’t delay getting dressed, nor does it feel clingy when you get into bed. Apply it from your neck to your toes – it’s so satisfying.

Perfume, £40 | Diem

Fragrance is subjective, which is why new brand Diem is launching with a try-before-buy set-up. The idea is you order a discovery kit of five scents, choose your favourite and then order based on that choice. The scents themselves are affordable at just £40 and come in totally recyclable packaging to minimise waste. It’s a great way of trying new fragrances and exploring something different. Our favourite is ‘Off Piste’ – a beautifully warm, green scent that has an outdoorsy quality we can’t get enough of. As the brand is deemed ‘niche’, you’ll be hard pushed to find anyone else wearing the same scent.

Hand + Body Wash Milk, £27 | Ded Cool

Beauty editors swear by this cool, aesthetically pleasing brand which has made its way over from the US. Its Hand & Body Wash Milk is a standout for us – bergamot, white musk and amber combine for a scent that’s so clean and a little animalistic. Post-wash, you feel fresh and uplifted, with a little going a long way, so you won’t run out too quickly. Don’t miss the Room + Linen Spray either, or the luxurious detergents.

Blowout Brush Pro Hair Dryer & Hair Brush, £68 | BondiBoost

Hair styling doesn’t get easier than with this brush. It looks big and chunky, but it’s deceptively lightweight, meaning it’s easy to work with. The soft bristles latch onto hair, reducing frizz and detangling strands as you work with it, while the heat helps to boost volume and smoothness. It works on both wet and dry hair, but for bounce and fullness, you may find it easier when hair is dry. We were impressed by how much shinier our hair was post-use. Plus, at £68, it’s more affordable than similar on the market.

Superluminous Redness Corrector, £25 | Beauty Pie

Colour correctors are often overlooked, but the right ones can transform the look of your skin and make-up. This new one from Beauty Pie uses green tones to counteract redness. Ideal for taking down inflammation and angry red bumps from breakouts, it blends in seamlessly with skin and brightens it so that anything you apply on top looks flawless. Extra points for the added vitamin C and linoleic acid, which keep skin moisturised and bright.

Brow Freeze Gel, £24 | Anastasia Beverly Hills

Fans of Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Brow Freeze will love this new launch. While the pot will always be the OG, this new design means you no longer have to use a separate spoolie to scoop out the beloved formula – it’s all housed in this clever tube. Expect the same results as before, just with easier application. Think slick, glossy brows with that ‘laminated’ effect everyone is obsessing over right now.

Beauty Pouch, £35 | & Other Stories

Need a new make-up bag? This one caught our eye recently in & Other Stories. Chic and surprisingly roomy, it’s perfect for stashing your daily essentials inside. It makes for a great gift too.

Mela B3 Intense Anti-Dark Spot Serum, £48 | La Roche-Posay

One of the best ingredients to prevent and treat pigmentation and dark spots is niacinamide. This new, silky serum uses 10% of it alongside La Roche's Melasyl Active complex, which works gently to boost cell turnover and whisk away any dead skin for a brighter glow. After a few weeks of using it both morning and evening, dark spots will have faded and skin will be better protected against future damage. You'll also find skin's tone is transformed, with a smoother look and a softer texture. Hypoallergenic, alcohol-free and non comedogenic, it's also incredibly gentle, unlike some similar treatments on the market.
