10 Under-The-Radar Brands To Shop At Cult Beauty

With all products edited and curated by a team of industry experts, Cult Beauty has long been lauded as the go-to destination for beauty junkies. Whether you’re after a problem-solving treatment or the latest beauty oil, they’ve got you covered with some of the coolest, most effective buys around. Here we round up our pick of their best new arrivals from under-the-radar brands that are challenging the status quo and offering something a bit different....

1. Bastide

This French line – free of ingredients like parabens, sulphates and toxic chemicals – had us at hello with their skin-soothing formulas and environmentally-kind packaging that’s made from reusable materials. And the body oil from the range is no exception. With a mix of antioxidants, linoleic acid and vitamins A and E, it deeply moisturises as well as leaving limbs with a satin-finish. It can be spritzed onto hair too, when you want to tame flyaways and nourish split ends.

SL LOVES: Bastide Dry Oil Mist, £50.

2. Darling

Possibly one of the most aesthetically-pleasing SPF’s we’ve ever come across, this Italian brand, DARLING, marries high-quality ingredients, innovation and in-depth research for protection that’s lightweight and so easy to layer. Plus, it’s 100% non-toxic to marine life, so you can use it guilt-free and are guaranteed to fall in love with the holiday scent that lingers on the skin all day.

SL LOVES: Darling After Sun Lotion, £39.

3. Ellis Brookyln

Founded by The New York Times beauty columnist, Bee Shapiro, this chic range has been designed so you can mix and match scents and enjoy layering them for something truly bespoke. One thing is for sure, you can guarantee none of your friends or anyone walking down the street will ever smell like you do when using this brand. Another bonus? Prices start from £27, so it’s accessible too.

4. Farsali

Farsáli’s range of primer-serum hybrid products created a stir in the beauty industry as well as causing a real buzz across social media. Why? Because their silky formulas work fast to blur, perfect and provide a filtered finish that few brands have been able to create. The products also have several uses. Whether you use it as a basic primer, under your foundation or as a blurring primer, you’re guaranteed a glass-like finish that’s highly addictive.

SL LOVES: Farsáli Skin Tune Blur, £50.

5. Girl Undiscovered

This brand is the brainchild of three friends from New Zealand, and it was designed with sustainability, traceability and self-care at its core. Our favourite from the range is this nourishing balm that can be used all over to soothe, soften and heal dry, chapped or neglected patches of skin with anti-inflammatory kawakawa leaf and moringa oils. A swirl dabbed onto the cheeks lends a pretty sheen, too, for those seeking a subtle highlight.

SL LOVES: Girl Undiscovered Beauty Balm, £27.

6. Glow Recipe

Meet South Korea’s latest brand, advocating natural products for sensitive skin types, Glow Recipe is set to be a sell out. As well as being seriously Instagram-friendly, we love this juicy cleanser that harnesses the exfoliating powers of AHA to thoroughly cleanse without over-drying thanks to the skin-soothing blueberries.

SL LOVES: Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser, £9.
Available here.

7. Farmacy

With rave reviews online, FARMACY is a brand beloved by facialists and make-up artists alike. Cultivating and farming their own ingredients, this range is completely pared back with patented Echinacea GreenEnvy Complex – an antioxidant-rich powerhouse that firms and protects the skin from the ageing effects of free radicals. Look to their plumping Honey Potion Mask if you’re after a luxe treat that restores hydration instantly.

SL LOVES: Farmacy Honey Potion Mask, £36.

8. Lemonhead.LA

We first spotted these cult pots in make-up artists, Pati Dubroff’s bag and have since been obsessed. Mess free, these condensed glitter pigments can be used on both face and body, providing full coverage that doesn’t drop throughout the day thanks to the gel-based formula. They’re sheer enough too that you can build and mix them at will, depending on the look you’re going for.

SL LOVES: Lemonhead.LA Spacepaste in Mulholland, £20.
Available here.

9. Pinch of Colour

Pioneering the ‘waterless beauty’ movement, Pinch of Colour was designed to conserve the world’s most natural resources by instead using botanicals and nourishing oils. This compact lip oil is our favourite from the range. You can build it up as much as you want to intensify the colour and not worry about it piling or flaking like a liquid lipstick.

SL LOVES: Pinch of Colour Healthy Lips Waterless Oil in Pink Crush, £18.
Available here.

10. Summer Fridays

With a wide celebrity fan base including Kim K-W and Jessica Alba, it’s easy to see why Summer Friday took off fast and became a sell-out brand. New to the range, this gentle R+R Mask, uses a blend of Argan and avocado oil to target extremely dry and damaged skin, while brightening vitamin C helps to refine texture and enhance radiance.

SL LOVES: Summer Fridays R+R Mask, £46.
