What’s New In Health & Fitness This Month
Lumen
A metabolism tracker that analyses your breath to see if you’re burning fat or carbs may seem far-fetched, but if you’re looking to improve performance or lose a few lockdown pounds, it’s worth a try. By taking three breaths through your Lumen, the device measures your CO2 concentration levels to ascertain what fuel your body is burning – from there, it recommends a daily meal plan, with the ultimate goal of making your metabolism more efficient. Use it pre-workout and it’ll even tell you if you’ve got enough energy in the tank for peak performance.

Fable Yoga
Whether you’re practicing at home or in a studio, Fable Yoga’s mats are worth knowing about. PVC-free and biodegradable, the pastel-hued mats are wider and longer than average, making them ideal for extra wiggle room. Created by a yogi, expect all the small details – think a clever spotted design to help you align in standing postures and a super-strong grip for sweaty sessions. Plus, the 4mm sponge gets our comfort vote – perfect for your next savasana.

Barry’s Bootcamp Soho
Fans of the Red Room should make a beeline for Barry’s new Soho studio, a stone’s throw from Oxford Street. The latest addition to the cult gym’s London line-up, the Soho space is the largest Barry’s studio in the UK and will be introducing LIFT, a new strength training class concept designed to build lean muscle mass and fire up a sluggish metabolism. Cool down in the luxe changing rooms (Barry’s most spacious yet) and refuel at the in-house café. You’ll leave exhausted, but it’s addictive – you’ve been warned.

Beaverbrook NAD+ Clinic
Nestled in the Surrey Hills, Beaverbrook feels a million miles away from the daily grind, and its spa is in a league of its own. We’ve long been fans of the spa’s holistic approach to wellbeing, and the launch of a new IV clinic could well be the ultimate health boost. We booked in for a NAD+ drip – known as the ‘miracle molecule’, it claims to boost brain and cell health as well as kickstart energy levels. Sessions are tailored to your needs – our therapist added an antioxidant and immune booster. Hang around for a massage (the Relaxing Massage comes highly recommended) and you’ll leave with fully charged batteries.

Lioness Smart Vibe
The more you use this smart vibrator (the world’s first), the more it learns about your orgasms and pelvic floor. After you’ve used it, it’ll sync with an app on your phone to show you real-time data – think the strength of your orgasms, vaginal contractions and length – enabling you to improve your sexual health and orgasms. Use it regularly and you’ll soon see patterns, learning when you’ll be most aroused during your cycle, for example, or how much foreplay you’ll likely need with a partner. It’s clever stuff.
