Dear Readers,

It may not feel like it outside, but the hardest part of the year is now officially behind us. March means the promise of lighter evenings, fewer layers and rosé season is now in sight. I always think February is the trickiest time of year for fashion – you’ve been in your knits and coats since September and the shops are filled with spring newness you can’t wear yet – so that makes the fashion team’s last few weeks of content all the more impressive. Did you see how amazing they made Tu’s denim collection look? I also loved the introduction of our newest style contributor, the impossibly glamorous Federica Labanca, to the SL Show, whilst our mini mic sessions on TikTok and site round-ups of fashion month’s best shows and looks kept us all up to date with what’s to come. Like everyone, I’ve been particularly enamoured by Chloé’s AW24 collection – with a new designer at the helm, and lots of vinyl capes, billowing rust-hued ruffle dresses and maxi sleeves, boots and everything in between, it brought everything we loved about the brand right up to date.

Outside of fashion, we loved spending time with our EIRs (Extra Important Readers) at a live podcast recording last week, as well as welcoming fresh big names into the office – from Chris Appleton (hairdresser to Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez) to Sunday Riley herself, Sam Chapman – whose Beauty School episode is coming soon – and the seriously cool Julia Restoin-Roitfeld

March sees the SL Beauty Awards come back with a bang – our team have been working hard to edit down the perfect selection of skincare and make-up heroes, and we’ll be announcing the winners with the help of some of the industry’s biggest names. The LGs are also hosting an IRL event to discuss Gen-Z dating – plus, their dream TikTok collab is finally in the works… to be revealed later this month. I’ll be joined by our favourite critical fashion voices for a post-Oscars SL Show special – tune in first thing on 11th March to hear what we thought of the red carpet looks. Plus, we’re excited to be volunteering for The Felix Project throughout March, taking it in turns across the next four Mondays to help cook and distribute food from their warehouse. I was lucky enough to see the amazing work the charity does first hand last year when we met and interviewed its CEO, and I’m thrilled that more than 50 SL team members can now lend a helping hand.

On a more frivolous front, I’m off to see Dune: Part Two alone this weekend – I’ve never been to the cinema by myself, but a three-hour sci-fi epic didn’t quite do it for my husband or friends. Between Netflix’s glam new romp Palm Royale and Mary & George, Julianne Moore’s playful twist on an extraordinary moment in British history, there’s plenty of good TV to binge this month too. Elsewhere, a trip to Restoration Hardware at Aynhoe Park and a cheeky night at Heckfield Place should satiate my need for a bit of fresh air before spring properly hits. And finally, it’s going to take a lot of self-control not to buy everything in Massimo Dutti’s latest drop – from suede jackets to fisherman sandals (the shoe of the summer, I’m calling it now), they have the perfect selection of newness for when the sun does – hopefully soon – rear its head.

Have a wonderful month,
