The most interesting interiors shop in the world is March SF. I discovered it on holiday in San Francisco and have been obsessed ever since. It’s an amazing source of inspiration – especially if you’re looking for one-of-a-kind pieces of art, handcrafted furniture and accessories you wouldn’t ever find on the high street.
The best department store for homeware is Merci in Paris. Whenever I visit the city, I come back with amazing linens and glassware. It’s always an enjoyable shopping experience. If it’s DIY though, Wickes is my go-to! It always has the bits and bobs you need for decorating or renovating.
The coolest independent interiors brand is Martino Gamper. I’m obsessed with this Italian designer. He is the brains behind the Arnold Circus stool, which is amazingly simple but so eye-catching. It’s named after Arnold Circus on the Boundary Estate, London’s first council housing project in Shoreditch, and was designed as part of a regeneration project in 2006. It’s still the official seating for the community events that are held there.
An under-the-radar brand I’ve recently come across is The Vintage List – it does great glassware. A lot of the pieces are inspired by 19th-century and 20th-century English designs.
My perfect shopping day would include wondering around a vintage flea market in the south of France. There are some brilliant ones held in Nice during the summer, so check them out if you’re in the area.
The best vintage store in the world is Stella Dallas in Brooklyn. It sells these amazing vintage American quilts that I always try and fit in a spare suitcase when I go over there.

The best vintage piece I’ve ever found is a big chest of drawers for my bedroom. It’s ebony black with a marble top from a shop on Golborne Road.
The best sustainable homeware brand is Tensira. It makes amazing cushions and textiles using centuries-old Guinean weaving and indigo dyeing techniques. Fused with Nordic design details, the end results are beautiful.
For something special, I’ll go to Portobello Market – you can have a good rummage and find something no-one else has. The atmosphere is so special and it’s just a fun place to hang out and people watch.
The best interiors gift I’ve ever been given were some Niwaki gardening tools. I never knew such beautiful gardening tools existed. From snips and secateurs to tripod ladders and toolboxes, Niwaki makes Japanese crafted tools that are as functional as they are stylish.
The most recent item I bought for my home was a plate from Glassette. It has ‘Love Love Love’ on it and it’s made by Meredith Adams.
The most expensive investment I have made in my home was the renovation. It isn’t really about the most expensive piece or detail – the actual renovation work and construction is a huge investment in itself, but I’m so glad we did it.
For linen I always go vintage via Vinterior. For glassware, I love The Atlas Works, which is a collaboration between two London-based designers and a traditional factory in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains where they make some really timeless but standout pieces.
Sleep is so important to me, so I always think it’s worth investing in good quality cotton sheets. Cologne & Cotton does some gorgeous designs and Tekla is a brilliant brand for organic bedding.
For art, well, I set up Art Kiosk last year. We believe art should be for every day, for every home. Art Kiosk commissions some of the UK's best artists to create curious and creative pieces for everyone to enjoy.
Vintage furniture hunting is my favourite thing to do. I can spend hours scrolling on Vinterior – it’s all about taking your time and trying to find an investment piece that really makes sense for your space. For soft furnishings, I like vintage throws – I can easily spend hours going through Vinted or Etsy trying to find old American quilts.
For lighting it has to be Palefire – it makes some fun, maximalist lighting. It’s a small London-based design studio and I just love the playful, decorative pieces. Remember – lighting can be fun as well as functional.
If I could only buy homeware from one place, of course I have to say Glassette. We have everything you need, from up-and-coming designers to more established names. We’re a one-stop shop – we consider it our job to collect and curate the best of the UK’s homeware brands.
Next on my list is a visit to Nickey Kehoe – a furnishings and décor shop in LA. I’ve heard it does some of the most amazing ceramics and lighting.
