The best department store in the world for homeware is Liberty. I almost feel it is my second home. When I worked in galleries in Mayfair, I used to walk over there almost every lunch break and browse through the homeware department. I love its mix of British and international brands, from Emma Bridgewater to Hay.
It is so fun finding out about new brands and developing relationships with them. I especially love Faeger for antique and upholstered finds, and also Trove by Studio Duggan – that’s why we sell its rattan and lacquer trays at DM Home. Walking into Faeger or Trove is like being hugged by a friend.
I am very intrigued by the newly opened And Objects on Pimlico Road. The curation and design of the store is so thoughtfully done. It is like a pristine treasure trove.
The under-the-radar brand I’ve recently discovered is Maud Vaughan Interiors. It makes beautiful marble trays as well as sourcing elegant furniture pieces. Great unique presents!
My perfect shopping day would have to include my sister. We go on a trip abroad each year and, as avid shoppers, we end up planning our trips around the best places to buy from. Last year we went to Mallorca and found so many treasures in towns such as Deia and Soller. This year we're off to Comporta.
The best vintage stores in the world are in Florence. I have spent a lot of time there over the years, and the small, quirky shops dotted around the city have so many gems. There’s also a brilliant vintage market every other weekend on the outskirts of town.

My favourite vintage piece is a ceramic white pedestal in the style of a column. I use it as a place to put a glass or a mug next to my sofa. I found it through my friend Rococo who has a brilliant antique collection.
The best sustainable brand I know is one of our newest brands at DM Home. L’Amour des Bonbons recycles unused scraps of material to make table linens.
The best interiors gift I’ve ever received was a beautiful painting from my mother. It’s by an artist called Rose Hilton who I am passionate about. She was married to the modern British artist Roger Hilton who stopped her from painting as he thought women were only ‘useful in the kitchen’. She turned out to be (certainly in my eyes) a far superior painter and now her works often come up for auction, getting more and more expensive. My painting is a modern-day version of the Three Graces in bright pink, orange and red.
For something really special, I go to 8 Holland Street in Bath. It has a beautiful range of artworks and home accessories.
It’s always nice (if you can) to commission something personal for a special occasion. For my godson's christening, I commissioned Willemien Bardawil to create a small painting. She painted a large T for his first name, surrounded by a lovely pattern painted in gouache.

I have so many unframed photographs that I keep promising myself I will frame. I bought a beautiful marble-ised paper one from Day Dress, which sells lots of beautiful homeware gifts as well as lovely dresses. Because photos are accessed so easily on our phones, I forget how nice it is to have a physical photo in a frame.
I am in my 20s so I am still on the rental market, but I can’t wait to design and renovate a house of my own. Until then, I buy all I can to make the places I rent as homely and personal as possible. I find buying and investing in paintings incredibly important in achieving this. I recently purchased a painting by Florence Huston from my friend Lyndsey Ingram. It is a beautiful jelly painted in purple. I am totally in love with it.
Gien has beautiful and traditional plates which I am saving up for. Its ceramic production is an institution. For bedlinen, I like Host Home’s personalised pillowcases. They are affordable but totally sophisticated. One of my close friends is the founder of Bias Editions; I was her first customer and I remain to this day her biggest fan. We sell some of her stunning glassware and I am working up a hefty collection.
I strongly believe that there should be affordable art. It’s the reasons I founded Domenica Marland in 2018. We sell affordable, decorative and contemporary artworks from a range of up-and-coming artists all with unique and unusual artistic flair. I am also always trailing through The Sale Room for online auctions of unusual pieces.
I love the selection of furniture at Ceraudo. It’s bold and bright and not too expensive. For lighting, I love to go to Etsy. You can find such an amazing selection of lights handmade by local makers. I found a few beautiful lacquer bamboo ones which I love. For soft furnishings, I love Ottoline's ruffle cushions. They are whimsical but elegant – my favourite has to be the pink and green one.
I used to sell ceramics by Alma Berrow when she first started out. I always wished I bought one myself before the prices shot up!
