Jigsaw
I'm always impressed with the quality on offer at Jigsaw. Its designs revolve around well-made staples with a few fashion-forward styles to keep things fresh and up to date. If you're looking for well-executed relaxed tailoring, check out the latest collection. From woollen pinstripes to double-breasted velvet, there are so many options. I love this blazer in an on-trend donkey-brown shade. I sized up to give it a slouchier feel and teamed it with a striped shirt for that androgynous look. I've also been on the hunt for a navy coat and found the perfect one here – a heavyweight trench, modern in shape with a defined collar, epaulettes and relaxed drop shoulders. A pair of surprisingly wearable knee-high silver boots were the ideal companion. Crisp white shirts, soft black leather pants, ecru denim, perfectly slouchy ribbed knitwear, camel overcoats – there isn't a minimalist classic you won’t find here.

Sandro
Sandro’s clothes are mainly about standing out rather than blending in. There's a lot going on there this season, including lots of embellishment, so shop with purpose and with a discerning eye. There are some absolute treats, though. My first spot was a trench with a twist. It had a long, pleated skirt made from a delicate houndstooth fabric that turned it into a dress coat – a real scene-stealer with definite McQueen vibes. I teamed it with rhinestone trousers and strappy sandals – the kind of look I'd wear to the shows or out to dinner. Sandro has also been doing great, retro-inspired knitwear recently – that kind of 70s, varsity-style, Gucci cool. This navy and red sailor-bib jumper is a great example. Wide-legged, high-waisted dark denim was an effortless match, but I'd also style the knit with nautical stripes, barrel-legged camel chinos or black leather. When it comes to tweed blazers, we're spoilt for choice this season, but this one stands out thanks to its statement puffed sleeves and gently oversized silhouette. It's the kind of easy throw-on that’s perfect for this time of year. I'd also belt it for a bit of drama.

ME+EM
This brand continues to go from strength to strength and has a new collection full of gems. Christmas parties are on the horizon and there are some lovely glam moments to be found here – think 60s-inspired velvet baby-doll dresses with matching platforms, sequins, pussy-bow details and flashes of red. I had to try on the inky midnight-blue dress with its large neck bow – do size up, as it comes up a little snug under the arms and it’s a case of the more volume the better. Instead of styling it with heels, I tried black cowboy boots (if you're looking for some, these are the best I've seen). If you're looking for eveningwear but not dresses, try these gentle flares in a dark gold jacquard. Then, add a beautiful cream flared-cuff blouse and a black velvet blazer for a seriously elegant look. Finally, I couldn’t stop thinking about these camel high-waisted wool culottes – such a clever twist on the midi skirt and great with long boots and a chunky cropped jacket.

Reformation
Reformation is a name I associate with cool, conscious millennials – sustainably sourced strappy tops and skimpy dresses are the brand’s bread and butter. While it isn't usually my first port of call, I often find it's worth a look – sophisticated, effortless pieces are always part of the mix. This season, I'm hankering after the knitwear in a range of earthy neutral shades – an oversized cable-knit cardigan in chocolate brown and a chunky, wide-sleeved, oatmeal turtleneck are top of my list. I also spotted some low-heeled chestnut boots that have been on my mind ever since. Plus, the usual silky slip dresses are back – check out the Frankie in black with its cream rosette, which has a touch of Chanel about it. Lastly, if you're looking for a classic coat that will go with everything in your wardrobe, make a beeline for the Baker. Double-breasted, grey tweed and available in a midi length, there's nothing this doesn't work with, from jeans and loafers to sweeping satin maxi dresses – it's a great investment.
