6 Things To Know About This Cult Hungarian Brand

Omorovicza is one of the most covetable skincare brands on the market. Full of powerful antioxidants, its range delivers a host of anti-ageing benefits, while its use of thermal waters helps skin to heal. Been missing out? To get you better acquainted, we reveal seven things you might not know about this cult beauty brand…
CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OMOROVICZA

1. You Won’t Find Any Of The ‘Nasty Nine’ Inside

Founders, Stephen and Margaret de Heinrich de Omorovicza, didn’t want the inclusion of unnecessary, synthetic ingredients which are occlusive and prevent the skin from breathing, so they coined a term called the 'Nasty Nine.' This means that the whole range excludes parabens, glycols, mineral oil, silicone, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulphate, synthetic colours, synthetic fragrances and chemical sunscreen, while making sure they do the job expected from the very best skincare.

2. They Have A Big Celebrity Fan Base

The Budapest brand is beloved by savvy editors and celebrities alike, including Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jodie Comer. And it’s little wonder given the luxe range is a collection of indulgent creams, mineral-rich cleansers and award-winning masks that deliver on their promise every time.

3. Mineral-Rich Thermal Water Is Central To The Brand

Brimming with Hungary’s mineral-rich thermal waters, Omorovicza marries centuries-old beauty wisdom with cutting-edge innovation. It all began over 2,000 years ago when the healing properties of Hungary’s thermal waters were discovered, and when the first thermal baths were built. The reason they’re so well-known for their healing properties is because of the unique geological features of the region. In Hungary, the earth’s crust is thinner, so waters absorb beneficial minerals more effectively as they rise to the surface, in turn, helping the minerals to stick to the skin properly.

4. The Products Were Formulated By A Nobel Prize-Winning Dermatology Lab

Once they’d discovered the true benefits of the healing waters, Stephen and Margaret enlisted the skills of a Nobel Prize winning dermatology lab (the one that discovered vitamin C) to incorporate it into the skincare range. Together, they developed the patented Healing Concentrate™ to ensure they could deliver these therapeutic minerals to the deepest layers of the skin. The result? Firmer, suppler, younger looking skin that’s visible after just days of product use.

5. The Product Range Is Huge

Omorovicza launched as a relatively small brand in 2006 but is now available worldwide in over 370 stores and 60 spas. Today there are 58 products in the range – 47 of those are for the face and seven for the body. There are five collections available now, too, including Hydro Mineral, Blue Diamond, Gold and Moor Mud, as well as the new Silver range. One of our favourites has to be the Thermal Cleansing Balm – it gently melts away make-up and is packed with Hungarian Moor Mud to purify and nourish the skin.

6. Chances Are, You’re Pronouncing The Name All Wrong

Finally, it’s likely you’re pronouncing the brand with an emphasis on the ‘z’ like so many do, but if you want to show off, the correct pronunciation is O-MOR-O-VEET-SA – a fun fact to remember next time you’re chatting beauty with the girls.
