What The LGs Are Booking For The Rest Of Summer

“Summer in London is all about brunch with the girls and I love discovering new spots, especially if they have great décor. You’ve probably seen Nessa Soho all over TikTok – the food looks delicious, and the interiors are dreamy. I have my eye on the egg muffin which is Nessa’s spin on McDonald’s McMuffins. Another TikTok find is Social Pottery which would be so fun with friends or a date. No matter whether you choose daytime or late-night pottery painting, you can fully customise your pieces and the sessions include music and refreshments.
“If you love Wes Anderson movies like me, you’ll already know about his new film, Asteroid City. Now, 180 Studios has opened an immersive exhibition to transport guests into the desert where the film is set. It even includes the original sets and props you see on screen. You don’t have to be a Soho House member to go – just sign up for the ‘Exhibition Membership’ which costs £40 per year for access to the exhibitions at 180 Studios. I also want to go to a Taste Film screening. This cinema-restaurant experience serves you exactly what you see on screen. This is finally your chance to try the famous chocolate cake in Matilda or everything Remy cooks up in Ratatouille.”

“Dog and cat cafés have been around for a while, but the new Dalmatian Café in London has me seriously excited. As a dog lover, I’ll be living out my 101 Dalmatians fantasy as I get my puppy fix in. Visitors can order brunch dishes and coffee, while owners can bring their own dogs for snacks at the dog bakery. I’ve also booked a BYOB pottery class. I’m a huge fan of colourful ceramics (thanks Matilda Djerf) but can’t often justify the price, so I love the idea of making my own. Token Studio near London Bridge is the place to go. You can either create unique pieces or paint ready-made plates, bowls and other ceramics. Plus, you can bring your own drinks.
“I’m also going to Cornwall soon and I’m excited to go to The Hidden Hut on the Roseland Peninsula near Truro. It’s been on my list for ages – I love the idea of delicious seafood cooked right on the beach. The team even hosts ‘feast nights’ where they set the restaurant up like a huge family picnic. It’s BYO plates, cutlery and wine, and they cook the freshest food. Get your tickets at Eventbrite.”

“This summer I'm joining my family for a week in St Ives and I like to have some fun activities planned whenever I head to Cornwall. Surfing is a must, although I'm far from mastering the sport so I'll hire a board from St Ives Surf School. We've also booked a private yoga class at St Ives Yoga. The class is £15pp and one of the studios overlooks the beach. They cater for all abilities, so will tailor the class to suit our group. We're also going to book a sound bath, which I can't recommend enough. It’s the perfect way to relax and get into meditation if you’re not sure where to start.
“Closer to home I obviously can't wait for the Barbie release. I spotted that Picturehouse Cinemas are hosting various dress-up screenings across the UK, encouraging viewers to show up in their pinkest outfits – I've never felt more prepared for anything!”

“The Hut at Colwell Bay on the Isle of Wight is one of my favourite restaurants to visit in summer. It’s right on the beach where you can eat the freshest seafood while the sun sets. They also have DJs who play some absolute bangers – everyone gets up to sing and dance by the end of the night. My family are from Norfolk, so I’ll also be heading to Burnham Market over the bank holiday weekend. Eric’s serves the best fish and chips in town and there are lots of pretty pubs near the beach, including The Hoste Arms and The Chequers Inn.
“If the good weather continues (fingers crossed) my friends and I will definitely go to the free Everyman open-air cinema on the canal at King’s Cross. We’ll grab some picnic bits from the nearby market and then stop for drinks afterwards at Coal Drops Yard. I also love the idea of renting one of the Skuna Boats for a BBQ along the river.”

“If you haven't checked Snowdon off your bucket list yet, consider this your sign. I’ll be climbing the mountain this summer with my besties. If you’re thinking of doing the same, don't forget to pack a banging picnic and a disposable camera to capture the memories. After the climb we’ll be going to Zip World nearby, which has the fastest zip line in the world – perfect for adrenalin junkies. We’ve found a great Airbnb a short drive away, so I’m looking forward to group dinners and drinks with the girls.
“Back in London I’m dying to go to The Ice Cream Project by Anya Hindmarch which is back for another year, showcasing an array of crazy ice-cream and sorbet flavours, like Branston Pickle, Warburtons Crumpets, Coco Pops and Heinz Tomato Ketchup. I’ll also make an afternoon of it and check out the newly reopened National Portrait Gallery while I’m in town. It has new portraits of Stormzy and other celebs, as well as exhibitions and film screenings. It’s been closed since 2020 so I’m excited to revisit one of my favourite London galleries.”
