THE ICE-CREAMS

Macaron Double Chocolate Ganache Ice Cream, £5.25 | Häagen Dazs x Pierre Hermé

Häagen Dazs has teamed up with Michelin-starred pastry chef Pierre Hermé to create an ice-cream collection made with his signature macarons. There are two flavours to choose from: Double Chocolate Ganache and Strawberry & Raspberry will transport your tastebuds to a chic Parisian café. Each ice-cream starts with milk and cream before crunchy, chewy mini macaron shells are added. Our favourite from the range is the ganache with its salted dark chocolate. Each one is available in pint tubs, mini cups and stick bars.

Salted Caramel Ice Cream Collection, £5 | Jude's

Jude's is made by a family of ice-cream makers. Churning it out in small batches, the team uses single-estate Colombian cacao, Madagascan bourbon vanilla and milk from Matterley Farm, just down the road from its production site in Hampshire. Now wonder Jude’s has won over 70 Great Taste awards. There are two salted caramel flavours to try: one with salted caramel sauce and salted caramel pieces, and the other made with cocoa sauce and chocolate curls. Mochi, £3.49 | Lidl Gelatelli

Trust Lidl to create another great dupe. Its ice-cream brand Gelatelli has created two flavours of Japanese-inspired mochi balls – imagine squidgy little balls of ice-cream wrapped around a soft rice cake covering. Choose from coconut or mango – we love the latter for a fruity, refreshing dessert. Mochi balls can be expensive, so these are a great alternative at an affordable price point. We recommend leaving them out of the freezer for ten minutes so they can soften up.
