What The LGs Are Booking For Autumn

“If you haven't tried padel this year, you're not too late to join the game. I would describe it as a tennis/squash hybrid, and it's easy for anyone to play, even beginners. There are now three new courts at The Padel Yard in Wandsworth, all equipped with floodlights for evening play. Membership is only £14 per month, which gives you early access to court bookings. You'll need a minimum of four players, so it’s perfect for a fun double date or a group of friends. Plus, there's a juice bar and coffee shop, and a nice bar next door for post-match drinks.
“I also want to visit Miznon in the next few weeks. They have outposts in Soho and Notting Hill where you’ll find a great selection of Israeli street food. I can already say the food is 10/10, so I’m excited to try the new brunch menu in Notting Hill – think fluffy pittas stuffed with breakfast fillings. Visit for the hummus alone – it’s banging and silky smooth. Another thing on my radar is the Diva exhibition at the V&A which features fashion, photography, design, costumes, music and live performances drawn from the museum’s collection and loans from across the world. I’ll be making a beeline for Rihanna’s 2018 Met Gala look. Finally, I’ve heard nightclub Fabric is hosting a 30-hour 24th birthday bash with 25 artists, residents and special guests later in October. I can’t say I’ll be there for the full set, but it does sound like a lot of fun.”

“I came across Darling’s Pasta by Egle Loit on TikTok and have been keen to go ever since. Egle runs pasta workshops from various studios in London, and you can visit the pop-up kitchen at her space at the Vestry House Museum in Walthamstow. It has a homely but cool vibe and the pasta, cocktails and coffee all look delicious. Next up is Crisp Pizza W3 in Hammersmith. I was lucky enough to visit during a recent event and instantly dropped the details in the group chat. It’s a must-visit for a perfectly crisp but saucy slice. My favourite is the new Picante special with a spicy tequila base, mozzarella cheese and pesto swirls. Another spot I’m keen to try is Lulu’s. It’s a little deli in Herne Hill that turns into a restaurant and wine bar in the evenings. Perfect for a cute date night.”
“Culture-wise, David Hockney’s Drawing from Life exhibition has been getting a lot of hype on social media, mainly because Harry Styles posed for Hockney last May at his studio in Normandy – and Instagram went wild. In November, the National Portrait Gallery will display the painting alongside other portraits he’s done over the last six decades.”

“Diwali is the festival of light observed throughout the south Asian community, which celebrates the light and happiness of life. This November, I'll be celebrating Diwali at Trafalgar Square to tuck into some of the most flavoursome food, watch the live performances and dancers, and pick up some new saris. There will be numerous food stalls and lots of activities throughout the day, from yoga sessions to comedy stages. I can't wait to spend the day celebrating the beauty that the south Asian culture has to offer. This autumn I’m also looking forward to visiting Bake Street to try some of the new brunch dishes and a helping of soft serve – the ice-cream looks amazing and there are so many flavours to choose from.
“I’ll also be booking a ‘Pinot and Picasso’ paint and sip class with the girls, for a fun and creative night in Shoreditch. I’ll be interested to see what everyone paints… Then, I’ll try and round up the gang for games night at Sixes Social Cricket which has numerous cricket simulator nets. It’s the perfect place for a competitive match, before settling the scores over bar snacks and cocktails.”

“Kayu Bakehouse is opening a bakery in Mayfair’s Shepherd Market this autumn. The original bakeries are based in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, so I’m excited to finally try a few treats as I’ve seen TikTok videos of the yummiest looking pastries and cakes. I love the sound of the raspberry cream cheese croissants and the double chocolate brioche. Other than swooning over pastries, I’ll be booking a night at The Comedy Store in Covent Garden. It’s one of my absolute favourite date-night spots in London. The tickets are reasonable (around £20pp) and we usually stop for drinks in Soho afterwards.
“I’ve also booked a weekend away with my sister to Bath in October which I’m so excited about. We’re going to add on a day trip to Longleat Park in Wiltshire where we’ll be going on a drive-through safari. I’ve been begging everyone to come with me for ages, so I’m chuffed it’s finally booked. Plus, Bath is such a pretty city, and it will be so cosy and atmospheric in the autumn. We’re staying at The Bath Arms Inn which looks so wholesome.”

“I’m excited to swap out my summer clothes for autumn pieces and, of course, I’ll be scouring the rails for second-hand and pre-loved items. The Frock Me! Vintage Fair is a treasure trove – the next one takes place on Sunday 17th September at Chelsea Town Hall. The building invites over 60 exhibitors to showcase a range of fashion, from rare vintage items to modern pre-loved designer pieces. Tickets cost about £5, which is more than worth it for an afternoon of browsing the hidden gems.
“When it’s out next month, I'm also keen to see the new Sofia Coppola film Priscilla which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. I have high hopes for the biopic based on Priscilla Presley's memoir Elvis and Me. I’m also planning to make a beeline for another restaurant I recently discovered on TikTok, Campania & Jones. It looks like the perfect autumnal lunch spot. I love the look of the rustic interiors and the seasonal menu looks very tempting. It's around the corner from Columbia Road so I'm planning to spend a Sunday wandering around the flower market and browsing the independent homeware shops, before heading to Campania for a bowl of pasta and a slab of tiramisu for dessert.”
