Sapna's Guide To The Best Paris Cafés
BUDDY BUDDY
If you have a nut allergy, stay clear of this one. Not only does Buddy Buddy sell a range of incredible sounding nut butters, the thing to try is the nut butter-infused coffees. I went for an oat iced version, which had almond butter and cacao. Again, it’s super aesthetically pleasing and modern – very TikTok friendly.

MOUSSE
You have to check out Mousse in Le Marais. A testament to the power of good branding, the cool logo grabbed my TikTok-fuelled brain in a few seconds. What made me walk in, stay and order more than I needed was the menu – think grilled cheese sarnies, insane cookies, chunky brownies and a selection of great breakfast options. They also do a pretty reasonable set lunch menu.

RECTO VERSO
Tiny, easy and with literally less than five tables inside, this is such a cute place in which to hide from the rain, read a book or go on a coffee date. It’s pretty modern looking with plaster-like walls and a simple, clean vibe. I loved the artwork and the really chocolatey brownie. Plus, the coffee was next level. One of my favourite vintage spots – Brut Archives – is only a short walk away – head straight to the bottom floor to browse a range of vintage and second-hand Levi’s.

ROUND
Slightly out of the way, it’s worth the trek to Round for one of its incredible breakfast sandwiches. I went for a classic egg, bacon and cheese, and the best part about it was that there wasn’t even the slightest ounce of grease or oil. Plus, the bap itself was delicious – think more brioche bun than classic white bread. I opted for the house sauce which was a sort of smoked ketchup condiment. So good.

BONJOUR JACOB
If you want to spend an afternoon browsing cool magazines while sipping on good coffee, this is the place to go. Somehow every person who comes into this place looks like they’ve walked straight off an editorial shoot. Bonjour Jacob is perfect if you’re working and need somewhere to sit with a laptop.

SEVENLY HEART
Daisy Reed went to Sevenly Heart, so I went to Sevenly Heart. But no, really – it had me at one browse of the Instagram feed. It does seriously good coffee and pastries in the day and transforms into a wine bar that serves small bites in the evening. It’s a must visit – just be warned it’s now picking up a little popularity on TikTok, so getting a seat isn't a guarantee.

CARBONI’S
A brilliant Italian spot, with a cool French edge, it’s perfect for a date, a meal with friends or even a solo meal. I went to lunch with my boyfriend and shared a bottle of orange wine – sort of like a zesty lemonade – as well as starters including burrata and bread, plus a croqueta stuffed with spaghetti and bolognese sauce, resting on a cream and basil sauce. For mains we shared cacio e pepe and then we tried what is now one of my favourite desserts – mascarpone ice cream with olive oil and fleur de sel.
