This month, Pizza Pilgrims is bringing a slice of spooky fun to Selfridges with a special edition of Little Slice Club. The team is hosting two Halloween-inspired sessions at its Selfridges Pizzeria on 26th and 27th October. Little chefs will be able to make their own pizzas and create some pizza box art – all with a Halloween twist and dressing up is heavily encouraged.

Little Omo
Little Omo is an inclusive educational toy brand. And this month, the team published its first children's book, Isaiah's Extraordinary Mum. Written by founder Desriee Asomuyide and illustrated by Abira Das, the story is based on an adventure with Isaiah and his mum Desriee. Throughout the book, readers will see true-to-life examples of how fun the world is while incorporating subtle lessons on topics like family, friends and diversity. The goal is to encourage diversity and inclusion and normalise seeing people of colour reflected in children’s books, while helping them with their cognitive skills, literacy and memory.

Afternoon Tea at 100 Queen’s Gate Hotel
This October half-term, 100 Queen’s Gate Hotel is hosting an educational – and tasty – Little Explorers Afternoon Tea. Aimed at families with young children, the tea will take children on a journey through space via a range of innovative treats that will be served at weekends from 12:30pm-4pm. Each plate will be piled high with space-themed dishes, including crudité ‘rockets’ and ‘Saturn’ scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, complete with an action-packed placemat filled with fun science and space-based activities.

The Snowman at Sadler’s Wells
The Snowman is running at Peacock Theatre from 19th-31st November for its 25th year in the West End. A magical stage adaptation of the much-loved picture book by Raymond Briggs and the film directed by Dianne Jackson, The Snowman transports audiences to the wonderland of a boy and a snowman who comes to life. Families will join them on their magical adventure to the North Pole and relive the festive classic, as music and lyrics by composer Howard Blake – including the song 'Walking in the Air’ – are played by a live orchestra.

The River Cafe Look Book: Recipes For Kids Of All Ages
This is the first cookbook from London's iconic restaurant The River Café written with beginner cooks and children in mind. The Dazzle & Fizz Club
Entertainment company Dazzle & Fizz’s new app brings the sensory excitement of its live parties to children at home or on the go, with a safe, interactive space for them to learn and play online. Working with an educational consultant and West End producers, its ‘edutainment’ videos are designed for a neurodiverse audience aged three-to-seven years. Led by a diverse cast of positive role-models, activities include arts and crafts, number games, mindfulness and meditation, STEM activities, phonics and Makaton and bedtime stories, all over seven to ten-minute shows. All posts are fully moderated before they go live and with only positive interaction allowed, so children can enjoy safe and valuable screen time.

Just outside London, Birch is a great option for families in the Southeast. Children’s Classes at Bodyism
Bodyism, the holistic wellness club on Westbourne Grove, is launching children’s classes at the studio from this month. The dance classes for children aged between four and five will be available throughout the autumn and winter and will incorporate an uplifting, low-impact dance workout and dressing up, while putting their rhythm and flow to fun beats. A Halloween class will be available to book for Monday 31st October, with fancy dress encouraged.

Bear Grylls Survival Camp at The Grove
This half-term, young guests are invited to channel their inner Bear Grylls and embark on the ultimate survival challenge at The Grove in Hertfordshire. The hotel has partnered with Grylls to keep families entertained at the two-night survival camp from 24th-26th October. The camp is designed to create fun and adventure for children, offering valuable survival skills and a chance to connect with others while out in nature. Activities range from axe throwing to shelter building and finding and purifying water. The Grove offers plenty to entertain the adults while the children take on the challenge, including working from the hotel, relaxing in the spa or playing a round of golf.

Adventure Playground at Belvoir Castle
Belvoir Castle – the family seat of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland – is opening its children’s adventure playground for October half-term. Styled on the castle itself, their daughter Lady Alice has spearheaded the adventure play zone which includes iconic features of the estate, including the historic tower, a ship modelled on the one her ancestor captained in the 18th century and a play replica of her father’s vintage car. Built at the foot of the Grade I-listed castle, the playground is set to play host to Halloween events at the castle. Make sure to leave time to visit The Engine Yard shopping village, which has plenty of food and drink options.

Rug Rhymes at Southbank Centre
What rhymes with rug? National Poetry Library puppets Federico and Firebird are on hand this season with fun sessions dedicated to nursery rhymes, poems and rhyming stories. Held at the Royal Festival Hall, the event on Saturday 22nd October has been created especially for the London Literature Festival, with rhyming on the theme of games and play. Further dates this year include 4th November, 18th November, 9th December and 16th December, which each starting at 11.30am.
