THE PADEL CLUB
Padium
Padel – a hybrid between tennis and squash – is the world’s fastest growing racket sport, with over 25 million players. At the end of this month, Padium, an ultra-modern padel club, will open its doors in Canary Wharf. Houman Ashrafzadeh of Urban Greens and Martin Lorentzon of Spotify are notable names behind the project, as well as COO Sara Kroik who headed up Barry’s in the Nordics. The club is over 30,000 sq ft with seven indoor panoramic glass courts and one outdoor court. Advanced players will appreciate the 10m indoor ceiling and the excellent floor conditions for a fast-paced game. Players will also have access to world-class coaches for one-to-one and group sessions. Off court, you’ll find chill out zones, modern changing rooms, a bar with energy drinks and protein shakes, and a pro shop with exclusive clothing from Björn Borg and Babolat rackets.

THE LOW-ALCOHOL WINE
Lecap
Lecap is a new wine brand that has all the flavour of a pale rosé, but with less alcohol. Ideal if you’re looking to cut back, the wine is made from cold-pressed merlot grapes grown in South Africa’s Paardeberg Mountain region. It has the dry, refreshing and crisp flavour you’d expect from a SA rosé, with around half the amount of alcohol. Expect notes of red berries with floral undertones and a citrus twist. Plus, each glass is just 56 calories.

THE VET
Snoots
According to a recent study, 84% of Londoners put off going to the vet because they’re worried about the cost. Snoots is a new affordable pet clinic that wants to change that. It’s just opened an outpost in Islington which operates like a GP for cats and dogs, with the aim of making pet care more accessible. For £33 a month, members receive an all-inclusive care package that covers the cost of all jabs, lab tests, x-rays, travel certificates, neutering and unlimited health checks for their pet. You can also contact the team online via the 24/7 Collar App, or book video consultations. All vets have trained at the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine and have many years’ experience treating small animals.
