THE JEWELLERY COLLECTION:
Tweed de Chanel
Tweed is synonymous with Chanel and the brand has now reinterpreted Gabrielle Chanel’s love of the material into a new high jewellery collection. Created by director of fine jewellery Patrice Leguéreau, there are over 60 pieces inspired by the rich craftsmanship of the material. Precious stones are woven in bold shapes to create unique pieces that embody the Chanel motifs: camellias, stars, ribbons, lions and the sun. The collection includes necklaces, sautoirs, bracelets, brooches, rings and earrings, all smattered with precious stones.

THE A-LIST AUCTION:
Out of the Margins
Over the next week, some big-name writers for stage and screen will auction first-edition manuscripts for charity. Bidders in the ‘Out of the Margins’ auction will have a chance to win some rare piece of history from the likes of Richard Curtis, Tina Fey, Tom Stoppard, John Logan, Martin McDonagh, David Hare, Richard Eyre and Jez Butterworth, who have donated manuscripts and screenplays annotated with personal reflections and insight into their creative process. Also going under the hammer are Broadway scripts from shows like Matilda, Six the Musical, Prima Facie, The Lehman Trilogy and more. There are 55 lots in total, bidding starts at £250, and anyone can get involved.

THE HOTEL:
One Sloane
Cadogan Estates and French designer François-Joseph Graf have collaborated on a new hotel in Chelsea. One Sloane, which opens this month, has similarities to Graf’s celebrated Hôtel Costes in Paris – they share some quintessential design notes and his signature attention to detail. Set in a 19th-century brick mansion just off Sloane Square, the new property has been carefully restored with the addition of a sixth floor that houses a restaurant serving elegantly simple French dishes. Elsewhere, there are 30 rooms with monochrome interiors and original features like wood panelling, ceiling cornices and stained-glass windows. We expect this to become a buzzy spot in Chelsea’s already sophisticated hotel scene.

Harris Reed SS24
British-American fashion designer Harris Reed is known for his striking genderfluid looks and contemporary clothing made from unique materials. Earlier this month, he opened London Fashion Week with a dramatic runway show watched from the front row by Munroe Bergdorf, Maisie Williams and Charithra Chandran. Reed’s monochromatic ten-piece SS24 collection is made from deadstock material like satin and velvet, and showcases dramatic silhouettes – think sculptural vase-like skirts and wing-like corsets inspired by vintage dress patterns. One of our favourite shows from the season, we love its blend of masculine and feminine.

THE FURNITURE:
Ralph Pucci x Alexandre Logé
NYC-based interior house Ralph Pucci has been working with Parisian designer Alexandre Logé. The result is ‘Echo’, a sculptural collection of lighting and furniture made from luxury, tactile materials like parchment, lacquers and bronzes, as well as Pucci’s patented Plaster glass. Logé spent three years designing the collection, drawing inspiration from traditional African techniques and glamorous 1940s pieces. His work often references bone-like forms, as in the ultra-modern, striking pendant lights and side tables.

The spa at the Dorchester hotel has partnered with Dr Uliana Gout, founder of London Aesthetic Medicine (LAM) on Harley Street, for a new cosmetic residency. Award-winning Uliana has created a menu of cosmetic treatments to help clients look and feel their best. Current treatments include ‘The Signature Luxe’ facial with blue LED light therapy to infuse the skin with hydrating molecules; ‘The Luxe Celebrity’ facial which includes electroporation, M-mode radio frequency, exosome skin-infusion and red LED light therapy; and ‘The Luxe Absolute Define’ which includes full face and neck anti-wrinkle injections, followed by radio frequency and multi-LED light therapy.

THE TRAVEL LAUNCH:
Sitatunga by Great Plains
Eco travel company Great Plains has opened Sitatunga Private Island, a water-based safari camp in the upper region of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. On a raised, wraparound private deck (made from repurposed railway sleepers) the camp has two suites, each sleeping up to four. Both have an indoor lounge, spacious bathrooms, a deck with outdoor lounging and seating areas, and a pool with views over the lagoon. Made almost entirely of recycled materials (paying homage to the Bayei people who historically occupied the area), the camp offers a ‘slow safari’ experience, from boating safaris and game rides to private helicopter tours of the delta.
THE EVENT:
Justine Picardie & Oriole Cullen On Coco Chanel at Heckfield Place
Earlier this month, The V&A opened the UK’s first exhibition dedicated to the work of French couturière Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel. On Thursday 30th November, fashion writer and biographer Justine Picardie will join exhibition curator Oriole Cullen to talk about the life and work of Chanel at Hampshire hotel Heckfield Place. Justine, who wrote Coco Chanel: The Legend and the Life, which was reissued in a revised edition earlier this year to coincide with the exhibition, will share her encyclopaedic knowledge of the fashion icon, while Oriole will discuss curating the V&A exhibition, which features over 180 looks – seen together for the first time in the UK. Signed books will also be available to purchase, and tickets are included with an overnight stay at the hotel.
