8 Of The Best Beach Wedding & Honeymoon Resorts
Created in partnership with SANDALS
Each of Sandals’ seven island destinations showcase the best of the Caribbean, from waterfalls and palm forests to pristine white sandy beaches and striking sunsets. For weddings and honeymoons, guests can choose from Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Antigua, The Bahamas, Grenada, Barbados and – new last year – Curaҫao. Whether you’re looking to book a wedding, a honeymoon or combine both, this is what Sandals offers brides and grooms…
*the* WEDDING...
Couples can pull together their dream day from a huge range of options and venues, with a team of personal wedding planners on hand to help bring your event to life. From seating and cocktails to music and entertainment, each venue has all the foundations in place. The team will also take care of the smaller details, so couples can rest assured everything will be taken of before their arrival on the island. Case in point: a team of document specialists will make sure the legal part of the process is made as simple and stress-free as possible.
Best of all, when couples stay for three nights or more, the wedding itself will be included in the cost of the holiday. And when couples stay for seven nights or more, they’ll get up to $1,500 worth of extra perks, such as a room upgrade, photographer or candlelit dinner. The cost-free wedding elements include an eye-catching ceremony venue (on a beach or in a lush garden), bouquet, boutonnière, tableware, wedding cake and a honeymoon breakfast in bed. With the essentials taken care of, any investment couples choose to make will go towards customising the big day with personal touches and fun extras.
*the* HONEYMOON...
Get married life off to the perfect start with a free honeymoon package, which is included for those who get married on one of the resorts or stay within 30 days of their wedding date. A Sandals honeymoon offers couples more ways to spend time together, with unlimited dining at up to 16 restaurants per resort, a large selection of land and water sports to learn, and access to the best suites. Whether high on a cliff top overlooking the sea, at the edge of a pool or right on the beach, these romantic, private hideaways are ready-made for honeymoons.
*the* DESTINATIONS...
When it comes to setting the stage for your big day, location is critical. Sandals provides some of the most beautiful backdrops you're likely to come across. From private white beaches in Jamaica to swim-up suites in Barbados, here are some of SL’s favourite Sandals destinations for weddings and honeymoons…
FOR A BRAND-NEW LOCATION:
Sandals Dunn’s River, Jamaica
Opening in May 2023, on the north coast of Jamaica, Sandals Dunn’s River resort offers a backdrop of rivers, forests and waterfalls. This secluded spot was hand-picked by the company’s founder for its pristine beach and its close proximity to Jamaica’s natural wonders. Sandals Dunn’s River will be home to Jamaica’s first Skypool Suites, the only ones of their kind on the island. These suites are in a class of their own with a pool stretching the length of the balcony, offering an impressive view of where the ocean meets the horizon. Also first of their kind, the Coyaba Sky Rondoval villas aim to reinvent ‘luxury’, with an oversized swim-up pool and open-air terrace on top of each villa. While wedding details are still under wraps, anyone looking to book a honeymoon this year should give this new site a look.

FOR AN OVER-THE-WATER CHAPEL:
Sandals Grande St Lucian, St Lucia
Framed to the west by Rodney Bay – which boasts the calmest waters in St Lucia – and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, this magnificent resort showcases panoramic views, volcanic mountains and a sheltered mile-long beach. We love the look of the over-the-water bungalows. Suspended over the Caribbean Sea, the wood-panelled accommodation gives way to a glass floor to make you feel like you’re sleeping on water. But it’s the outdoor space that really impresses – imagine an over-water hammock, outdoor shower and huge tub on a private patio. For weddings, guests can opt for an intimate ceremony on the over-the-water wedding chapel. Those memorable views are guaranteed to be the ideal backdrop for photo opportunities.

FOR A BEACHFRONT CEREMONY:
Sandals Grenada, Grenada
For a romantic getaway, head to the all-inclusive Sandals resort in Grenada. On Pink Gin Beach, this couples-only destination has private plunge pools, cascading waterfalls, and 257 beautiful rooms and suites spread over four villages. We suggest booking one of the SkyPool Suites, which have private infinity pools and a butler service. For something more lowkey, the Pink Gin Beachfront Rooms come with a balcony or patio. There are ten restaurants, plus six bars and a range of outdoor swimming pools and whirlpools. Guests can also soak up the Caribbean vibes on the beach, relax at the spa or certified divers can take advantage of inclusive scuba diving trips. We love that weddings can be officiated during a beachfront ceremony at sunset.

FOR TWO RESORTS IN ONE:
Sandals Grande Antigua, Antigua
Sandals Grande Antigua is on the island’s most famous beach, Dickenson Bay. It’s actually two resorts in one: the Caribbean Beachfront Village, a charming seaside garden filled with palms; and the all-suite Mediterranean Oceanview Village, which mixes European grandeur into the Caribbean hillsides. The latter comes into its own for stylish wedding breakfasts, which can be hosted in the beautifully manicured European Wedding Garden. For honeymoons and the wedding night itself, we love the look of the seaside rondovals at the Beachfront Village. There are 11 restaurants on the resort and scuba diving for certified divers is a speciality.

FOR SUPER-LUXE SUITES:
Sandals Montego Bay, Jamaica
Montego Bay is the original Sandals resort. Embracing the best private white-sand beach in Jamaica, this romantic location offers the perfect backdrop for weddings – the secluded wedding chapel comes surrounded by fountains and greenery – and honeymoons. The calm, reef-protected beach is ideal for every type of water sport and guests can book into 12 restaurants, each serving authentic regional cuisine. Those looking for an extra-special honeymoon should look at the private super-luxe seaside suites, which come with a butler and are just steps from the sea.

FOR A ROOFTOP WEDDING:
Sandals Royal Barbados, Barbados
Sandals Royal Barbados is a recently opened all-suite, all-inclusive resort in St Lawrence Gap. The resort features a number of Sandals firsts, including The Sky Terrace, a rooftop pool where couples can get married beside a rooftop pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Some of the best accommodation on the island includes the striking Skypool Suites (which come with an infinity-edge plunge pool that blends into the horizon), Swim-up Suites, and Millionaire Suites, which have a dedicated butler. Elsewhere, there are nine restaurants and a large spa.

FOR A ROYAL RECEPTION:
Sandals Royal Bahamian, Bahamas
This resort was once a favourite of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Today it offers two ocean-front colonnaded pools overlooking the sea, ten fine-dining restaurants and an award-winning Red Lane spa – and couples can say ‘I do’ in a gazebo perched over the Caribbean Sea. Honeymoon highlights include the new River Pool Swim-up Suites with butler service, two white-sand beaches and – for an extra special touch – exclusive VIP airport transfers in either a Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Benz for those booking one of the butler suites. Best of all, honeymooners get access to the resort’s offshore island.

FOR A NEXT-LEVEL HONEYMOON:
Sandals Royal Curaçao, Curaçao
Sandals Royal Curaçao opened last summer on the exclusive 3,000-acre Santa Barbara estate on the Dutch-influenced island of Curaçao. Famous for its vibrant culture, pristine beaches and wonderful coves, Curaçao is home to 65 spectacular dive sites and exotic marine ecosystems – ideal for adventurous honeymooners. Spread around Spanish Water Bay, Sandals Royal Curaçao is a romantic getaway with 350 rooms and suites – including Awa Seaside Bungalows with private pools and Kurason Island Suites overlooking a heart-shaped pool. At the centre of the property, couples will find the brand’s first ever bi-level Dos Awa Infinity Pool, with views overlooking the bay and rugged mountain landscape beyond.
