10 Floral Wedding Dresses We Love

Here’s why Sacha Somerston wore a floral dress for her wedding to husband Drew this summer…

I tried on so many white dresses – about 20 in total – and while they were all lovely, I really didn’t feel like myself in any of them. My mum spotted the floral style and said she thought it was very ‘me’, but I didn’t think I could wear a colourful dress for my wedding. They had the same dress in ivory on a mannequin, so I tried on the floral one just to see if I liked the shape. I never ended up trying on the ivory.

When I put on the colourful style, my gut told me it was the one. My only hesitation came from knowing it wasn’t the ‘normal’ thing to do – but I knew Drew would love that it was a bit different. I’d never considered or even seen a colourful wedding dress before I tried mine on, but I was so happy with what I’d found. If I could do it all again, I’d definitely try on a few more floral options just to compare. My advice? Go with your gut and embrace being different. There really are no rules – remember, you only get to wear a wedding dress once.
