Mog The Forgetful Cat
After a sell-out run last year at Royal & Derngate Northampton theatre, Mog The Forgetful Cat will tour the UK until July. Judith Kerr’s bestselling children’s story will be performed at Bristol, Leicester, Cambridge, Salford, Birmingham, Worthing, Coventry, Exeter, Newbury and at The Old Vic in London over the next few months. Mog always seems to be in trouble. She forgets that she has a cat flap and that she has already eaten her supper. But sometimes, Mog’s forgetfulness comes in handy. In this new production, families will be taken on a journey with Mog and friends as she catches a burglar, gate crashes a cat show, goes to the vet and eats lots of eggs. Tickets start from £14.50.

Disney's Winnie the Pooh: The Musical
Little ones can now see their favourite Winnie the Pooh characters come to life in this new musical. Opening at Hammersmith’s Riverside Studios at the end of March before touring the UK and Ireland, the show is set in deep in the Hundred Acre Wood where a new adventure is about to happen. A.A. Milne’s famous characters – Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit, Owl and Tigger – will be brought to life by an ensemble of performers. Audiences can enjoy original songs and a brand-new story. Tickets start from £29.

The Singing Mermaid
Julia Donaldson’s much-loved book The Singing Mermaid has been adapted for the stage at the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon. The singing mermaid is tempted away to join a travelling circus, with the promise of a life of excitement – and her own swimming pool. The audience loves her singing but soon she finds she’s been tricked by the dastardly circus master. Will she ever escape? And who will help her along the way? Tickets start from £10.

The ‘Not So’ Grimm Twins
This family-friendly show is inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales. Audience members at London’s Lyric Theatre will meet world-famous twins Jake and Will Grimm, as they tumble from their magical wagon brimming with stories collected from every inch of the world – from Rapunzel to Red Riding Hood. You’ll even meet their little sister Lottie as tales are retold like never before. Performed by three actor-musicians and featuring original live music and puppetry, it’s suitable for the whole family.

The Extraordinary Time-Travelling Adventures of Baron Munchausen
This award-winning family-friendly comedy will open at New Wimbledon Theatre on Sunday 5th March. The Extraordinary Time-Travelling Adventures of Baron Munchausen promises swords, duels, elephants, castles built of cheese. Discover how the Baron invented Morris dancing, how his actions saved the Isle of Skye from sinking beneath the waves, why every fourth child in Bruges is named after him and other fantastical stories. Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination
If you’re keen to take the kids to something educational over Easter, the Science Museum’s Science Fiction exhibition takes visitors through the cosmos to explore visions of the future through the science of today. Ideal for older children and teens, budding scientists will be guided by artificial intelligence of alien origin. You’ll get to board and explore a unique spaceship, scout an unknown planet and investigate how scientists and science fiction creators have imagined and built new worlds to better understand our own. Everyone will enjoy this sensory experience, but it’s a particularly good day out for the kids this Easter. Fun, vibrant colours and bold patterns will keep little ones distracted while you roam around this vast exhibition and take in work from the likes of Cézanne, Monet and Rembrandt. Separated by four themes, you’ll find rooms dedicated to ‘Beyond Reality’, ‘Colour in Motion’, ‘The World Around Us’ and ‘The Art of Abstraction’ – with each one showcasing different styles of art and graphics through the ages. Titanosaur at The Natural History Museum
For the first time ever in Europe, the Natural History Museum will showcase a skeleton of a titanosaur, one of the largest creatures to have ever walked the Earth. Four times heavier than Dippy the Diplodocus (displayed until recently at the museum for over 100 years) and 12m longer than Hope the blue whale, the biggest dinosaur to have ever lived will be on display inside the Waterhouse gallery from Friday 31 March. Visitors can weave their way around the gallery handling specimens, exploring interactive games and learning how a creature of this colossal size could have survived, and thrived, on Earth. Adult tickets cost £16; child tickets cost £9.

Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace
The famous Grade-I listed home of Henry VIII and his wives will keep kids entertained for hours. This Easter, there’s a special Lindt gold bunny hunt where kids can discover the stories of fascinating people who visited, lived and worked at the Palace. They’ll have to match up the name of the character on the trail to the red ribbon on the bunny statue at each location to receive a Lindt treat from the Clore Learning Centre. The trail is suitable for children aged four to 12 and takes around 90 minutes to complete. Be sure to visit The Magic Garden, too, an adventure playground filled with mythical beasts.

Horrible Histories' Terrible Thames Tour, London
Horrible Histories returns to the river Thames with a new adventure for children. Families can board the Terrible Thames Tour for a journey across the river to see some of London’s top sites, including the Tower of London, Cleopatra’s Needle and Westminster Bridge. Horrible Histories’ guides will tell guests fascinating – and gruesome – stories along the way, from King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn to Jack the Ripper and Queen Boudicca. Daily sailings begin on Saturday 1st April from Tower Bridge Quay; tickets cost £22 for adults and £14 for children.

Pilot Training at the Royal Air Force Museum
The RAF Museum has partnered with the reenactors of Up An’ At ‘Em! History for kids’ pilot training sessions. They’ll find out what it takes to train like an RAF pilot during World War Two and embark on missions to test their speed, brain, and teamwork skills. Missions include firefighting with stirrup pumps and buckets; formation training; assault courses with a helmet, rifle, and jacket; and regiment training to defend the airfield from attack. Once all four missions are complete, they’ll receive a badge and pilot passport with stamps. Tickets cost £5.

Easter Family Day Out at Hever Castle
Just 90 minutes from London by car, Hever Castle is steeped in history. The estate, once the seat of the Boleyn family, dates back to the 13th century and has 125 acres of beautiful grounds to explore. This Easter, there are plenty of family activities for children of all ages, taking place daily until Sunday 16th April. Little ones can take part in an Easter hunt around the beautiful grounds, following the trail of colourful carrots to find the Golden Carrot, then go on an egg hunt to find hidden chocolate. There’s also a free craft workshop, an interactive audio guide to listen to inside the castle and a special woodland walk.

The Giant Easter Egg Hunt at Garden Wisley
The RHS’s Garden Wisley in Surrey will welcome visitors this spring with a giant Easter egg hunt. The whole family can walk around the garden to spot eggs decorated with designs by the winners of last year’s artists’ competition. Once you’ve spotted them all, little ones can join in with planting and craft workshops in the Clore Learning Centre. For non-members, tickets cost £16.50 for adults and £8.25 for kids.
