Blue Peter’s Amazing Authors Competition
Singer and children’s author Tom Fletcher has teamed up with Blue Peter for an exciting competition. To enter, children will have to write a short story or poem, and the winning submission will be brought to life as a book and read as a CBeebies Bedtime Story. Budding authors will need to come up with a brilliant main character – which could be a human, animal, or something completely imaginary – who gets caught up in an amazing adventure. Their work will then be turned into a book and animation, will be read by Tom on Blue Peter and will even be available as a podcast on BBC Sounds. The winner will also get to go behind the scenes at HarperCollins and Aardman to see how characters are illustrated and books are published before receiving a printed version of their story to keep forever – plus a Blue Peter badge. Entry closes at 5pm on Wednesday 8th March 2023.

The Baby Show
The Baby Show is heading to ExCeL London next month. Where The Pancakes Are (WTPA) is celebrating a very special Shrove Tuesday across its three London restaurants in partnership with the West End’s Matilda The Musical by the Royal Shakespeare Company. On Tuesday 21st February, diners can tuck into a special dish fit for Matilda herself, featuring buttermilk or vegan pancakes topped with fruity blackberry compote, vanilla ice-cream, chocolate sauce, marble shards and sprinkles of chocolate popping candy. There’s also a competition to enter – Where the Pancakes Are is calling lyricists, poets and rhyme makers of all ages.
