The Background
Fed up with dragging a car seat through the airport and storing a big bulky car seat, mum-of-three and entrepreneur Leah Davis was left with only one solution – to design and create her own. That’s how RyRy Compact was born, with the aim to create the most premium, compact equipment to make everything easier for parents of young children. Now, after years of research, rigorous design and a pandemic, RyRy Compact is launching the first in a range of compact children’s equipment – the RyRy Scallop – a beautifully designed toddler car seat which uses luxury materials and is committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible.
The Design
Featuring engineering that’s second-to-none, and designed in Britain, the front facing RyRy Scallop transforms the once cumbersome car seat into a foldable and easily portable piece of luggage for parents on the go. Designed for toddlers 76cm-105cm in height (approx. 15 months to five years), it’s stylish and safe enough for everyday use in your car, as well as being compact and portable enough to travel with you around the world. The adjustable headrest grows with your child, while the magnetic shoulder straps hold the straps back for a snug fit and maximum comfort. Finally, the RyRy Scallop is i-Size, so it will fit with any car that features isofix – a standard that became mandatory in European cars in November 2012. Confused? The Materials
All the materials RyRy Compact uses in its car seats are of the highest quality and they’re also good for the plant. The soft foam padding is made from fully biodegradable and non-toxic plant polymers, while premium merino wool regulates your child’s temperature and comes with anti-bacterial properties. Even the travel bag is made from recycled plastic bottles.

The compact size of the RyRy Scallop – it measures just 40cm wide – means it fits like a glove into rear bucket seats, unlike other large and cumbersome seats on the market, so even those with sportier cars will be able to make it work. The best bit? It folds up and is compact enough to take on your travels – great news for city dwellers who don’t own a car but find themselves relying on Ubers or other taxi services.

Size
RyRy Compact wants to make things smaller and more convenient for parents. Measuring in at hand-luggage size and weighing just 9kg – it only measures 52cm x 40cm x 25cm when closed – the Scallop is the perfect option for busy parents on the go.
Safety
There’s no compromise when it comes to safety. The RyRy Scallop adheres to the latest EU R129 certification – the highest on the market today. It has built-in isofix and gives maximum protection for front, rear and side impact with its integrated SiP technology.
Sustainability
Using sustainable anti-bacterial merino wool and plant-based polymer foam for its comfortable padded seats, the travel bags are even made of recycled PET yarn. Finally, as an official partner of the Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, RyRy Compact removes 5kg of plastic from the world’s oceans for every car seat sold – and the brand will responsibly recycle your old car seat at their own expense. Style
Using the highest quality materials and finishing touches, the car seat is also available in four colourways – ‘True Charcoal’, ‘Grey’, ‘Black &White’ and limited-edition ‘Blush’. Each colourway includes luxe detailing throughout, from leather trims to the brand’s signature neon colouring.
