The Fashion Interview: Paris Texas

There are so many muses for the brand – women of all ages from all over the world. They tend to be strong personalities, but fun at the same time. They’re also not afraid to play with style – the type of women who wear boots in the summer. Ultimately, the Paris Texas woman is every woman – she is confident, not afraid to wear whatever she wants, effortless and natural. 

Often, the design process starts with a colour. Our latest resort collection is inspired by nature – when we were in lockdown we really noticed all the nature surrounding us. It’s also important to balance my own needs with my customer's needs when I’m designing.

So many amazing things have happened with the brand so far. But one of the highlights would be winning the Emerging Talent award at last year’s Footwear News Achievement Awards. We have also dressed some incredible women, including Emily Ratajkowski, Jerry Hall, Eva Chen, the Kardashians and, more recently, Candice Swanepoel for the cover of Spanish Harper's Bazaar. 

Right now, I’m loving stiletto heels. For evening, our Stiletto boots in Suede Angora, and for the daytime, a more comfortable option such as our Slouchy boots in suede grey or natural printed python.

The most special piece from one of our upcoming collections is our iconic boot, but completely covered in crystals. They're so bright and incredibly cool – I can't wait to wear them with my favourite pair of denim trousers and an oversized coat. They will be available online and in store very soon, so keep an eye out. 

There are so many fashion destinations I love, but for different reasons. London is probably my favourite, as it's always very fashion forward, but Paris is always so inspiring. The vibe in Los Angeles is also really relaxed – I love how women style Paris Texas there, plus they have some incredible stores, including Elyse Walker and Just One Eye. 

All of our designs look great just with a pair of jeans. Although, that said, the boots match perfectly with so many different styles – feminine, grunge, casual and even dressy. 

My wardrobe philosophy is that clothing should make women feel confident, sexy, powerful and beautiful. When I wear a basic t-shirt, a pair of jeans and brand new slouchy boots from Paris Texas, I feel extremely confident, yet comfortable. The fact that women can have fun wearing our boots but be comfortable at the same time is what makes the brand unique.
