Style Watch: 7 Looks We Love This Week

Fans of the SheerLuxe Show will be familiar with our regular Style Watch section, in which we dissect the coolest looks we've seen lately. We thought it was about time we brought it to the site too – from a slick ribbed midi dress to the oversized blazer we love, here’s what our fashion team think.

Look 1

Charlotte Collins: The proportions on this look are what make it so special – the boxy, oversized fit of the coat, the exact crop of the trousers… if it was monochrome it would still be flawless, but the heavy dose of colour makes it even more memorable.

Lu Hough: I love how Leonie is always so brave with brighter colour combinations. The oversized, floor skimming length of the coat is so chic.

Polly Sayer: Never one to shy away from bright colours, Leonie combines lilac, turquoise and a metallic bag and it just… works. What pulls the look together is the white strappy heels, as well as those super cool chunky chains.

Look 2

CC: Consider this off-duty chic done right. A really oversized fit will always put a cool spin on weekend dressing – this voluminous coat and relaxed sweatshirt make core basics feel even more relevant.

LH: Ellen proves that going oversized can really elevate your look. It’s a pretty simple monochrome palette, but she’s made it so much cooler by supersizing the entire silhouette.

PS: In my eyes, Ellen can do no wrong, but this look demonstrates the power of good outerwear, in this case a Stand Studio coat. It elevates an otherwise quite simple look – one I’ll definitely be replicating at the weekend.

Look 3

CC: A masterclass in how to dress down a midi for off-duty, I love how the easy addition of a band tee makes this pink hero piece work harder.

LH: Estelle is a recent discovery for me and her style choices are so fun. I love how she’s mixed a tomboy tee with a ladylike skirt and shoes – it’s got a real ‘I just threw this together’ feel to it.

PS: I’m obsessed with the juxtaposition of this preppy midi skirt and shoes with a graphic tee. The toughness of the upper half dresses down the latter perfectly.

Look 4

CC: This is a look brimming with trends – zebra slingbacks, jodhpurs, puffy faux leather – but an all-black colour palette keeps it from going overboard.

LH: Tiffany has proved an all-black look doesn’t have to be boring by playing with interesting details – from the leather puffer jacket cinched in at the waist, to the cut out detail on the leggings and incredible zebra print shoes, it’s anything but dull.

PS: I’ve seen these zebra Bottega Veneta shoes everywhere and am even more desperate for them now I’ve seen them on Tiffany. The print adds interest to this monochrome outfit, and extra kudos for the split hem trousers.

Look 5

CC: This is proof once again that a monochrome colour palette can make even the most statement trends more wearable. Square shoulders and long boots are grounded by simple, subtle shades.

LH: By keeping her base layer all white, Mette ensures her look is super directional. Then, by adding a structured blazer, it makes everything feel more fashion forward without looking like she’s tried too hard.

PS: Over the knee boots won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but Mette makes them feel like less of a statement by ensuring the trousers are the same colour. Add an oversized blazer like she has for an effortlessly cool 80s-inspired look.

Look 6

CC: We always say our top hack for looking chic is tonal dressing, and this is an easy example to follow. Chunky biker boots and cosy layers also make a structured midi feel more wearable.

LH: This look has to be one of my favourites. I love how Netti has gone tonal but plays with textures, while extra style points go to the shearling bag which matches the colour of the skirt. Plus, it’s proof these trends can be worn at any age and still look fabulous.

PS: I love how Netti combines different textures like leather, shearling and cashmere here – it’s such a great lesson in how to keep tonal dressing interesting. Adding a chunky boot was smart too – it stops the look from being too formal.

Look 7

CC: Another midi skirt look, only this time something a little less polished. A few ladylike details (the oversized collar, the structured bag) also help soften the denim-sweatshirt-boots combo.

LH: Tamu is mixing a lot of trends here, from a collar to the chunky boots. In doing so, she makes the look feel less formulaic.

PS: I’m seriously tempted to try a denim midi skirt after seeing this outfit – I love how Tamu has added the collar, instead of just a plain knit, to add interest too.
