Style Rules: Parysatis
My number one style rule is balance. Since I'm petite I always need to be very careful with proportions and the overall look I create. If I'm wearing an oversized blouse, I'll make sure to avoid a long skirt.
My style is a mix between French and Middle Eastern – that means minimal, effortless outfits but always with a little dramatic touch. That could be cool heels or sparkling accessories or puffy sleeves.
My everyday outfit formula is a blouse with puffy sleeves, crop top or cardigan with puffy sleeves, 501 jeans or a skirt and mules in summer, boots in winter. Yes, I'm obsessed with sleeves, shoulder pads and crop tops.
The number one thing on my summer wish-list is a tie-dye dress, but I couldn’t find a sustainable one anywhere. So instead I went for a t-shirt, from @SisterhoodThe. I’m also very into crochet right now, and the ‘underwear out’ trend – but to be honest that’s basically just a bikini under a nice shirt.
Right now I’m living in summer dresses, but also slip skirts, mules and cute tops. I’m shopping for my holidays in August, thrifting and trying to find new sustainable brands. I am also looking for what I call ‘compliment pieces’ – the opposite of basics but that you still wear a lot. These are things like a vintage dress that I will wear after the beach, to work and also for a night out with heels.
My favourite pieces in my wardrobe are my vintage blouses. To me they are timeless. My biggest investment ever is a @StellaPardo coat for winter – I invest more in my winter wardrobe.
If I could swap wardrobes with anyone it would be my friend @SabinaSocol. She has the dreamiest vintage Chanel bags and pieces. For great style, I follow young creatives like @Saintelee and @FashiionGoneRouge.
I don't have a favourite brand but for inspiration and aesthetic I’m obsessed with @Jacquemus and recently I discovered @Gimaguas and @Shop.LuisaMeirelles. I’m really into sunny and warm brands. If I could afford it, I would only wear Chanel or Isabel Marant.
My career highlight so far has been beginning to upcycle previous collections for very cool brands. I love working as a consultant and playing with a brand’s DNA. And, of course, working on my brand, Atelier Arya, which is getting a fresh start in September.
My top tip for feeling confident is to stop comparing yourself with other women. And, of course, having fun with your wardrobe, make-up and style. The moment you have fun, it will work.
