Style Rules With Coco Beautea

Style blogger and YouTuber Hannah (aka @cocobeautea) has amassed almost 700k followers thanks to her effortlessly chic, neutral outfits. Here, she reveals how to keep minimal style interesting, her biggest wardrobe splurges and what she can’t live without…

I would describe my style as minimal, laidback and classic.

I am a sucker for great outerwear. I bought a Nanushka houndstooth coat last winter – I’ll never tire of it. I’m excited about wearing a trench for spring, too.

I couldn’t live without all my gold jewellery. I feel so empty without them! Most of the pieces I wear are from Missoma, who have great, everyday pieces.

My go to outfit when I don’t know what to wear is a long overcoat, camel jumper, blue jeans, ankle boots and tons of gold jewellery.

Five pieces everyone should have in their wardrobe are the perfect pair of jeans, a blazer, a classic tee, a roll neck jumper and a pair of tailored trousers. To keep neutrals interesting, I try to incorporate some print, or look for a classic piece with an elevated design. I love a pair of nude reptile print boots to help jazz up an outfit.

My favourite thing in my wardrobe is my sweatpants – don’t judge me! I just love being cosy at home, binge-watching Netflix. I have lived in my sweat pants this winter.

Keep neutrals interesting by incorporating some print, like a pair of reptile boots.

I buy most of my knitwear and jeans from Arket – they’re simple, classic and amazing quality.

One of my favourite high street stores is Arket. Their pieces are simple, classic and amazing quality. I tend to buy my knits and denim from there, and still have pieces that are over two years old which I wear on repeat.

I invest in classic handbags which won’t go out of style. My most used bag is probably my Dior Saddle, as it goes with almost every outfit – casual to occasion. I recently purchased the Chanel Trendy bag too. It’s definitely the most expensive piece in my wardrobe, but I’d lusted after it for so long and have zero regrets.

The last thing I regretted buying was a white coat, which I instantly spilled coffee over. I have to keep reminding myself that I can’t get away with wearing white.

I’d never wear neon. I love seeing it on other people, but it’s one thing I can’t bring myself to try.

My style icons are always changing, but I currently love Rosie Huntington Whitely. She makes me want to move to a warmer climate just so I can copy and paste her outfits.

My number one styling rule is comfort first. Great style is so personal, so as long as you’re comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing, you’re dressed well.
