FASHION
The Under-The-Radar Brand
Right now, I’m obsessed with DÔEN. It’s not super under the radar anymore, but it was new to me. The pieces are so chic – they have a retro feel that I love. For statement pieces, Selezza is a no-brainer.
The Affordable Finds
I rarely shop on the high street anymore as prices have gone up and there are some amazing up-and-coming brands I’d rather support – plus, they help me shop a little more sustainably. That said, I do sometimes find myself buying the basics and knitted sets from H&M. At the moment, there’s a pointelle-knit skirt set that’s high on my wish list.
The Trend
Spring whites are classic, and they were all over the runways in February. I also think polos are going to be huge. I like wearing my dad’s vintage polos with skirts and heels for a cool contrast. Elsewhere, burgundy (patent specifically) is a trend I’m keeping my eye on – we have Sabato De Sarno’s Gucci collection to thank.
The Go-To Combo
If you live in the UK, you’ll understand the struggle of never knowing what season you’re dressing for. To get around this, I’ve been sticking to a uniform that I keep going back to – a comfy base of jeans or tracksuit bottoms and a cosy jumper, plus heels, a blazer, and a big scarf worn back to front.
The Spring Outerwear
The coat I’ve been wearing on repeat is by Bazhane. It’s a show-stopper I wear with anything from tracksuits to eveningwear – it makes any look feel that much more elevated.
The Shopping Destinations
My favourite place to shop has to be Selfridges. It has a huge selection of high-end pieces, but it also supports up-and-coming designers and runs second-hand pop-ups. Online, I like Koibird and Browns. Both have such a cool selection of brands.
The Sunnies
I have a crazy amount of sunglasses, but I always find myself wearing the same ones – my Linda Farrow x The Attico pair. They’re so 90s. I’ve also just ordered a pair of Oliver Peoples – I’m so excited to wear them.
The Footwear
I’ve never worn a pair of shoes more than my Gucci slingbacks – so much so that I had to get them in green, too. The heel height is perfect – they’re actually comfortable – and they make me feel really special when I wear them.
The Events Hero
I love experimenting, so there’s rarely one piece I rely on for events. However, my Anine Bing hourglass blazer comes in handy when I need to dress up. It’s also perfect for elevating a day look or transitioning a look from the office to events. This exact one is sold out, but I just found a similar style on Aligne, which is just as beautiful and slightly more affordable.
The Campaign
The latest Miu Miu show definitely made me feel a certain way – I even bought orange gloves, I was that inspired. I just love the way Miuccia Prada plays with fashion. I like every Miu Miu campaign. They always make me want to go back into my wardrobe and style all my pieces up in new ways – it’s a reminder that the key to a well-executed outfit is not the pieces, but how you put them together.
The Style Muses
My grandma has always been my style muse. She had the most quintessential Milanese style – big gold earrings, big glasses, a big fur coat and an animal print bag. My mum also influenced my style. I always find myself looking at photos of her when she was my age and feeling very inspired. My biggest fashion icon, however, is Fran Drescher as The Nanny. I check out her looks in that series at least twice a month for inspiration, then go on eBay and buy loads of 80s suits. On Instagram, I like following Giorgia Tordini and my friend Elodie. They have very different styles but it’s so interesting to see how they put outfits together.
BEAUTY
The Essentials
First place goes to the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla. It’s the only treatment that actually hydrates my lips – I can’t go anywhere without it. I’m also loving Mecca’s SPF50+. I use retinol every other night, so it pays to be careful in the daytime. I also can’t live without the LH Cosmetics lip liner in Sepia. I am yet to find a better brown shade. As for fragrance, I could bathe in Dior’s Jasmin Des Anges. I could bathe in it.
The New Discoveries
I’m so late to the game, but I recently started using the OUAI Hair Pomade and cannot fathom how I ever lived without it. The other thing I’ve started using recently is the Current Body LED Mask – I’m hooked.
TRAVEL & CULTURE
The Next Destination
I’m going to New York at the end of April and will be there for a week or so. My boyfriend is there working for the whole month on his art show, so I’ll be joining him in time for the exhibition. I always stay at The Walker Hotel in Tribeca, both for the location and the cosy rooms. It’s basically my home away from home. My first stop is always The RealReal. I just can’t help myself. I really recommend it if you’re looking for pre-loved designer pieces. I also love What Goes Around Comes Around – the selection is unmatched. I have a special attachment to NYC because I used to go with my family when I was younger. I can’t wait for another walk around Central Park.
The Staycation
If I’m having a staycation in London, I’d probably stay at the Lanesborough because it’s just so quintessentially British. Nothing relaxes me more than a room with a Hyde Park view.
The London Hotspot
Zephyr in Notting Hill is one of my favourite restaurants. My order is normally tarama, pita bread, prawns, sea bass carpaccio and saganaki for lunch – or rib-eye steak for dinner. All with a glass of orange wine.
The Audio Favourites
I’m more of a music girl then a podcast girl. That said, if I am listening to a podcast, I want it to be both funny and entertaining, so I love Call Her Daddy. Music-wise, if you had a look through my top played, it would include a mix of Italian and English 80s songs.
