7 Key Takeaways From New York Fashion Week
Helmut Lang
THE DEBUT:
Peter Do For Helmut Lang
Marking his return to the runway, Peter Do unveiled his new vision for Helmut Lang. With plenty of Lang’s signatures – think limited colour palettes, typographic T-shirts and the taxi print – Do left his own mark with clean lines and pared back details.

THE SHOW:
Khaite
Khaite is one of our favourite brands – mainly because head designer, Catherine Holstein, knows exactly what the modern women wants to wear. This latest collection was full of leather, denim and silk – signature elements of her impeccable design ethos. Strong shoulders, balloon sleeves, and fringing also took centre stage, with plenty of cool-girl attitude completing the confident looks.

THE FROW:
Coach
The NYFW front row is always strong, and this season didn’t disappoint, with an exciting blend of fashion heavyweights, influencers and A-listers. Stuart Vevers’ show marked ten years at Coach, with fans out in full force, including Jennifer Lopez, Edward Enninful and Anna Wintour sat side by side.
THE STREET STYLE STAR:
Amy Juliette Lefevre
Amy Juliette Lefevre has long been one of our favourite street style stars and this Fashion Week, she treated us to a string of adventurous and cool looks. We love how she makes clothes her own by adding unique styling details – think white socks with silver shoes, neckties and fun accessories.

THE COLOUR:
Red
From the runways to the streets, red had a moment in New York. Pops of colour were dotted through the shows – adding colour and drama to Khaite, Proenza Schouler and Altuzarra. Paired with camel, white and denim it’s definitely set to be the colour of the season.

THE TREND:
Silver Jewellery
New York confirmed the gold rush is well and truly over as chunky silver pieces dominated. From Tory Burch to Brandon Maxwell, sculptural, large-scale silver jewellery was interpreted in modern and elegant ways – expect to add plenty of it to your SS24 jewellery collection.

THE HERO PIECE:
Silk Outerwear
We always expect to see plenty of silky dresses and lightweight separates at the spring/summer shows, but it was silky outerwear that grabbed our attention this time. Tory Burch and Altuzarra proved neutral silk coats are the chic way to wear the trend; we love the idea of a long, belted silk mac thrown over loose tailoring – as seen at Carolina Herrera.
