A Former Vogue Editor’s Little Black Book

Who better than a former Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar fashion and beauty editor to open up their little black book? Here, Madrid-based fashion editor Sofia Paramio Delgado, aka @SophiaParamio, shares her favourite fashion destinations.

If I could only shop on one street, it would be Melrose Place, in Los Angeles. The whole place is so inspiring – especially the Isabel Marant or The Row stores. They are so special I think I could live in them.

The most unusual shop in the world used to be Colette. Everything you bought there was – and still is – special and different. RIP.

The coolest piece I’ve ever found on my travels is a John Galliano dress that I wore to my pre-wedding party. I found it in Paris and will love it forever. Paris has, no question, the best department stores in the world – Galleries Lafayette and Printemps are just two examples.

I enjoy shopping in artisan stores – especially those in Mexico, Morocco or Colombia. My style is a bit bohemian, especially during the summer, and you can find some really unexpected hero pieces in these places.

My perfect shopping day would include a good lunch and the best company.

The coolest resort label is Agua by Agua Bendita. I love Colombia and each print and design from the label reflects its spirit. For swimwear, I love Hunza G and Marysia – their styles are comfy and timeless, and the coolest under-the-radar brand is Bernadette Antwerp – it’s a mother-daughter duo who make the most beautiful modern and luxury pieces.

Depending on the piece, I tend to have a different go-to store. I always turn to Again Cashmere for jumpers, Levi’s for jeans, and Frankie Shop has a good selection of basics with an on-trend twist.

I never walk away empty handed from Galleries Lafayette. I always pick up something new at Aurelie Bidermann in the shoe department, or in the children's section for my daughter.

DEL PARAMO VINTAGE

SEA NY

My favourite vintage store in the world is a small jewellery shop in Paris. It's, more or less, in front of the Mandarin Oriental and Costes Hotel, but I can't remember the name – they always have the most incredible pieces in the window. In Spain, I like Delparamo vintage, and also Vestiaire Collective. My favourite vintage piece I’ve ever bought is an old Rolex

If I could only wear one brand again, it would be Saint Laurent or Isabel Marant. For something special, I go to Chanel. I know it’s a cliché, but if you’re looking for a one-off ready-to-wear piece, you'll find it there – or at Hermès

The best fashion gift I’ve ever given is a watch from Cartier, and the best gift I’ve ever received is my Chanel 2.55 bag in black – the classic one. It’s the ultimate forever purchase.
