The Coolest Destination For Xmas Shopping
Created in partnership with Carnaby
the LIGHTS
With 14 streets full of shops, bars, pubs and restaurants – all within walking distance of Oxford Circus and Piccadilly tube stations – the West End destination always has an incredible atmosphere, but it really comes into its own at this time of year, when its impressive installation takes centre stage. This year, Carnaby Street, Foubert’s Place, Ganton Street and Newburgh Street are alight with festive illuminations. Among the collection, there's an underwater seascape, a kaleidoscope of butterflies, giant snowmen and 1960s inflatables – alongside collaborations with iconic British bands Queen and the Rolling Stones. The Stones’ illuminated tongue logo is one of the most unmistakable displays. Elsewhere, Carnaby’s arches are covered with silver shimmering discs embellished with carnival decorations and a globe greeting visitors with the words ‘Carnaby Welcomes The World’.
the FASHION
Fashion fans will be excited to explore Carnaby’s 14 streets of shopping – which include new openings from Danish brand Stine Goya, as well as RIXO, Ksubi and Dickies, alongside premium French fashion brand IKKS Paris, Scotch & Soda, Han Kjøbenhavn and GANNI – ideal for anyone looking to update their winter wardrobe. We recommend stopping by Bloobloom for sunglasses or heading to lounge and underwear brand Gilly Hicks or Nobody's Child for that perfect Christmas party dress. Shoppers can also visit the Mind charity shop for vintage finds and, of course, Liberty is right by Carnaby’s entrance, ready to help shoppers find luxury gifts across beauty, fashion, homeware and tech.
Beauty & WELLNESS
Shopping for beauty fans? Carnaby’s offerings include MAC, Too Faced, Benefit, KLORIS CBD and Pixi, alongside laser facial specialist Skin Laundry and blow-dry bar Duck & Dry. Shopping for gym bunnies? Look out for Sweaty Betty, NICCE, Adidas, and Puma.
one-off GIFTS
Just off Carnaby Street, the cobbled streets of Newburgh Quarter are the best place to find gifts from independent brands. Here, you’ll find stores such as Annie’s Ibiza, iconic rock ’n’ roll jeweller The Great Frog, bespoke tailor Mark Powell and respected piercer Metal Morphosis. If you’re looking for gifts for the men in your life, Newburgh Quarter is home to Fred Perry, Barbour, Red Wing Shoes and Aubin.
food & DRINK
Need a shopping pit-stop? There are more than 60 options to choose from, with over 30 cuisines, including London hotspots Kanada-Ya (Japanese), Polpo (Italian), Dishoom (Iranian), Kolamba (Sri Lankan), Ino (Greek), Bao (Taiwanese), Jinjuu (Korean) and Zahter (Turkish). In three-floor, al fresco Kingly Court, you’ll find 25 restaurant concepts, including Marsha, a zero-waste chicken restaurant; Imad's Syrian Kitchen for an authentic Syrian dining experience; and BBQ spot Dirty Bones for a great burger. We love speakeasy-style bar Nightjar for live jazz and blues. After a caffeine hit? Stop by The Department of Coffee & Social Affairs, Farm Girl and Grind.
choose LOVE
Charitable pop-up Choose Love is back, selling a collection of limited-edition products, along with refugee gifting packages. Located at 15-17 Foubert’s Place, throughout the festive season the pop-up will host a stream of celebrity guests popping in to serve customers and get them in the Christmas spirit.
